Man Reportedly Falls Asleep at Wheel on Bridge St., Hits Parked Cars
The accident occurred at 12:30 p.m.
A man was taken to the hospital after he swerved across Bridge Street and crashed his two-door Chevy truck into a series of parked cars Thursday afternoon.
A man identified on insurance forms as Charles McLaughlin, 69, a resident of Audubon, was heading westbound on Bridge Street when he is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel and sideswiped a white Suzuki SUV parked facing east, then barrelled into a silver Honda sedan, which was propelled back into a silver BMW convertible, which inturn was pushed back into a grey Honda Civic.

McLaughlin, who wore a white bandage below his right elbow and who was, according to a passerby, coming home from the hospital when the accident occurred, was taken away by ambulance for what appeared to be a chest injury.
Phoenixville police Sergeant Tom Goggin said the driver may have a heart condition, which contributed to the accident.
