Man Stabbed Four Times in Phoenixville

A juvenile has been charged as an adult in the Memorial Day weekend stabbing.

A teenage victim was stabbed with a knife in the left lung, left forearm and twice in the back during a dispute shortly after midnight on May 29.

The stabbing occurred in the 300 block of Washington Avenue in Phoenixville. The victim was rushed to Phoenixville Hospital and later flown to Temple University Hospital. Police said his injuries were severe enough to require a trauma unit.

According to Phoenixville police, the adult victim knew the stabber, a 17-year-old who was charged as an adult.

Police Chief William Mossman said the incident was isolated and noted that people in the borough don’t have anything to worry about, as the attack was not random.

Police said they did not know what the dispute was about specifically, only that the men knew each other and that the victim and attacker were not related.

The 17-year-old attacker was charged as an adult with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and possessing an instrument of crime.

He was arraigned and sent to Chester County Prison on $250,000 bail.
