Murder Suspect Reidler Also Charged for Burglary

According to police, Reidler broke into a Walnut Street home and stole prescription drugs.

Police say Stephen Reidler, 23, of Linfield, was also responsible for a burglary that occurred in the borough a week before the murder of Selvin Lopez-Mauricio.

A police report states that a man returned to his home in the unit block of East Walnut Street to find a white male in the living room on Sept. 7 at 8:15 a.m. A press release issued by police alleges that the male was Reidler.

According to the police report, the man later identiifed as Reidler ran past the home's occupant and on his way out, he dropped three Fentanyl patches. Fentanyl is used in the treatment of cancer and it's a narcotic and an opioid, according to Drugs.com

Later, the home's occupant also found approximately 30 Oxycodone pills missing. A neighbor witnessed the burglar running from the home and told police she later saw him standing on the corner of Gay and Walnut streets, according to the police report. When the burglary victim was shown a photo line-up on Oct. 13, he identified Reidler as the male who entered his home, according to the press release issued by police.

During his in district court, Reidler told District Judge Theodore Michaels that he's addicted to prescription drugs.

Charges for felony burglary, robbery, criminal trespass and two counts of felony acquisition of drugs through misrepresentation, along with misdemeanor charges, were filed in on Thursday. Reidler was arraigned Tuesday morning on the new charges and a preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 3. According to a police press release, bail was set at $25,000 for the burglary charges.

However, Reidler remains in Chester County Prison on homicide charges for his alleged role in Lopez-Mauricio's murder on Sept. 14 on Prospect Street. Due to the severity of the charges, Michaels was not authorized to set bail in the murder case and bail was denied.

Reidler's attorney entered a plea of not guilty and in the murder case, and the charges move on to county court.

Reidler isn't the only suspect in the Lopez-Mauricio murder to face additional charges. Saleem Williams, 20, of Sharon Hill, because police allege he had multiple bags of marijuana on him at the time of his arrest. Additionally, while executing a search warrant at the , a 19-year-old for felony drug charges when she reportedly turned over a stash of marijuana she had in her bra.

The third suspect, Monique Robinson, 18, of Phoenixville, , wanted on first-degree murder charges and a host of other charges in connection with the robbery/murder of Lopez-Mauricio. There is for information leading to her arrest.
