New Information as Search for E. Pikeland Bank Robber Intensifies

Patch has new information about the robbery last week at the First CornerStone Bank in E. Pikeland.

East Pikeland Police are asking the public to take another look at the man who police say robbed the The First CornerStone Bank at 368 Schuylkill Rd. East Pikeland Township just before 10:30 a.m. last Thursday.

Police are not releasing the amount of money the man got away with at the request of the bank.  East Pikeland Police Chief James Franciscus tells Patch that the search is still focusing on the greater Philadelphia area but that the search could broaden as the investigation unfolds. The Chief says that the F.B.I. has been alerted in the case but that the focus of the investigation remains with Chester County investigators.

The East Pikeland Police Chief tells Patch the man is not currently a suspect in any other bank robberies.  There have been several other bank robberies in the Phoenixville area over the past year, but this is the only one in recent memory in East Pikeland.

When asked if the man in the photos is considered 'armed and dangerous' the Chief said that the man did not brandish a gun during the robbery  "but if you rob a bank you may want to consider him dangerous or he may have had a gun and did not display it."

According to police, the man who is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt with black boots and a full tattoo sleeve.

Police say the man walked up to a teller's window and slid a demand note to the teller demanding money. After receiving an unspecified amount of money the man walked out of the bank.  He was last seen walking west on Schuylkill Road toward Rapps Dam Road.
