Phoenixville Man Charged with Stealing From a Church

He was already in jail when police say they found stolen items.

East Pikeland Police have charged Brandan Slider, 27 of Phoenixville with theft after police say they found four gift cards in his bedroom.  The cards, valued at $104 were "taken from the Saint Basil the Great Parish located in the village of Kimberton," according to police.

At the time the stolen cards were discovered police say Slider was already jailed in Chester County Prison on an unspecified charge from Schuylkill Township Police.

Police say Slider, who is already incarcerated,  will be arraigned from prison at a later date.

Stealing from a church for a 100 bucks in gift cards? I'm not a religious man but even I know that is just plain stupid and wrong. My guess is he is a dope fiend that was hoping to trade them in on the north side of Bridge street for a few 20 bags.
