Phoenixville Police Blotter: Alleged Drunk Driver Arrested at Kmart

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between Oct. 21 and Oct. 26 in Phoenixville Borough

Alleged Drunk Driver Arrested at Kmart

An officer responded to a report of an intoxicated male near a black Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot of the Kmart at 1000 Nutt Road on Oct. 26 at 11:19 a.m.

Upon arrival, the officer reported finding Scott Parke, 54, of Royersford, driving a black Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot. The officer stopped the vehicle and allegedly noticed a strong odor of alcohol. In a police report, the officer said Parke was sluggish and slurring his speech. Parke allegedly confessed to drinking beer and a shot of Jack Daniels.

Parke was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and related charges. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 5.

Gun Stolen From Back of Truck

A man reported that he noticed on Oct. 26 at approximately 2:30 p.m. that a gun he kept in his truck was missing.

The gun was last seen on Oct. 25 when he was backing out in the Wawa parking lot on Route 113 and Nutt Road. The gun was described as a black Smith and Wesson .380-caliber Bodyguard with a 2.7-inch barrel and two magazines holding six rounds of ammunition each.

The victim locked his truck at his residence in the 1100 block of Ross Lane overnight after leaving the Wawa. He worked at Creek Road and White Horse Road throughout the day.

Police were investigating.

Prescription Drug Theft on St. Mary’s Street

A woman reported that sometime between 7 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 24, a thief stole her Oxycontin pills and her wallet from her purse.

The alleged theft occurred in the 200 block of St. Mary’s Street. The woman said the wallet contained insurance cards and ID, along with a prescription for Oxycontin. The pill bottle that was stolen contained 25 pills.

The theft was reported on Oct. 24 at 11:15 a.m.

Alleged DUI Crash at Anderson and Lincoln

A woman’s vehicle was allegedly struck by a vehicle driven by Timothy Tirpak, 57, who was traveling west on Anderson Avenue and went through the stop sign at Lincoln Avenue, according to a police report.

The incident occurred on Oct. 24 at approximately 2:14 p.m. The police report states that Tirpak was taken into custody for driving under the influence. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Fender Damaged on Callowhill Street

A man reported that sometime during the overnight hours on Oct. 26, the front passenger-side fender was damaged on his 2007 Honda Element, which was parked in the 1100 block of Callowhill Street.

There was a deep scratch and two separate dents, according to a police report. The damage was reported on Oct. 26 at 2:13 p.m.

Debit Card Stolen, Used in Atlantic City

A woman called police to report that on Oct. 15, while she was checking her bank statement online, she noticed fraudulent charges.

She looked for her bank card and noticed it was missing from her home in the 1300 block of Eland Downe. She called her bank and canceled the card. The card had been used in Phoenixville and in Atlantic City.

The woman’s bank is investigating the incident, which was reported to police on Oct. 24 at 3:02 p.m.

Hit and Run on Franklin Avenue

A hit-and-run driver sideswiped a 2007 Honda Pilot parked in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue on Oct. 19 between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The Honda had damage on the left side of the vehicle with some red paint transferred.

Woman Reports Chipped Car Window

A woman who lives in the 2500 block of Overture Drive reported that someone used an unknown object to put two chips in the rear window of her 2000 Mercedes S430.

One of the chips started to crack and spread, according to the police report. The incident occurred on Oct. 22 in either Philadelphia or Phoenixville. The incident was reported on Oct. 24 at 3:53 p.m.

Car Break-in on Kimberton Road

A man called the station to report that sometime during the overnight hours on Oct. 24, someone broke into his vehicle, which was parked in the 800 block of Kimberton Road.

Break-in on Township Line Road

Between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 20, someone kicked in a rear and interior door of a farmhouse on Township Line Road.

The incident was reported on Oct. 20 at 9:06 a.m. Nothing was taken from the property.

Hit and Run in Giant Parking Lot

A man was backing his vehicle out of a spot when the driver of a black Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle backed into it.

The driver fled the scene on Oct. 23 shortly before 3:26 p.m.

According to a police report the fleeing vehicle’s driver was a black male in his 20s with a black female passenger in her 20s wearing a maroon head scarf, and there was a third person in the car.

Police checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Alleged Drug Possession on Bridge Street

Police located a man identified as Stephen Rapp, 22, urinating in public in the 300 block of Bridge Street on Oct. 22 at 2:43 a.m., according to the police report.

He was cited for disorderly conduct and taken into custody. While police were searching his belongings, they allegedly found a small tin containing marijuana along with a glass smoking pipe. 

Rapp was charged with drug possession and related offenses. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 1 in district court.

Bumper, Grill Stolen from Car on Pothouse Road

A woman reported that sometime between Oct. 16 and Oct. 19, a thief stole the front bumper and grill from a 2002 Chevrolet S10.

The truck was parked on Pothouse Road near Timothy Lane. The theft was reported on Oct. 21 at 1:12 p.m.

Rocks Thrown on Church Street

A man reported that someone has been throwing rocks over a fence in the 300 block of Church Street on top of another man’s car.

The incident was reported on Oct. 21 at 2:47 p.m.

Man Reports Being Jumped at Club 212

A man reported that he was jumped on Oct. 22 at approximately 4:30 a.m. outside of Club 212 at 212 Bridge St.

Police were investigating.

Kid on Bike Allegedly Hits Car on Valley Road

A man called police to report that a 12-year-old boy on a bike had collided with a parked Nissan Altima in the 700 block of Valley Road on Oct. 23 at approximately 3:44 p.m.

Police observed damage to the Nissan and tracked the boy down. The corporal spoke with the boy’s parents and insurance information was exchanged.

No Parking Sign Broken on Bridge Street

A No Parking sign in the 300 block of Bridge Street was found broken near the street on Oct. 23 at 4:35 a.m.

Police moved the sign to the side of the road and left a message for the streets department.

License Plate Stolen on Armstrong Avenue

A woman reported that sometime between 3 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 23, a thief stole the front license plate, registered in Virginia, on her 2004 Volkswagen Passat, which was parked in the 1000 block of Armstrong Avenue.

Paint Splatter on Car Reported

A man reported that the passenger side of his 2008 red Chevrolet Cavalier was splattered with white paint sometime between 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 and 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 26.

The man’s residence is in the 3200 block of Eland Downe. The incident was reported on Oct. 26 at 4:42 p.m. Police reported that the damage may have been the result of driving over a freshly painted line on the road.
