Phoenixville Police Blotter: Car Stolen from First Avenue

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between May 24 and May 28.

Vehicle Stolen on First Avenue

A man reported that sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on May 26 someone stole his vehicle from the 300 block of First Avenue.

The car was a silver 2011 Toyota Camry sedan. The victim reported dropping his keys while walking his dog between 10 and 10:30 p.m. that evening.

The vehicle was recovered at Quick Street and First Avenue. No damage was reported to the vehicle, but an iPod and Garmin GPS were stolen.

Handgun Found After DUI on Bridge Street

Leo Plocicki was arrested for driving under the influence after police reported he crashed his vehicle into a light pole and a parked vehicle in the 100 block of Bridge Street on May 28 shortly before 3:45 p.m.

Police found a loaded handgun inside the vehicle, according to the police report, and Plocicki did not have a license for the gun.

Blood was drawn and Plocicki was held for arraignment.

Assault on High Street and South Street

On May 25 at 2:12 p.m., a man reported being punched three times in the face by Samuel M. Nelson, 29, after the victim refused to give Nelson money.

The assault occurred near the intersection of High and South streets. Charges for simple assault and harassment were pending against Nelson.

Water Balloons Tossed from Bus

A woman flagged down police on May 25 at 5:44 p.m. to report that juveniles were throwing water balloons from a SEPTA bus near Bridge and Walnut streets in Mont Clare.

The incident was reported to Upper Providence Police.

Trailer Tires Slashed Near Boat Docks

A man reported arriving back from fishing to discover that someone slashed the driver’s side tire on a trailer parked near the boat docks in Phoenixville.
The incident occurred before 10:56 p.m. on May 25. When police arrived, they discovered that two other trailers also had similar damage, with the driver’s side tires slashed. The man who reported the incident told police he heard the tires being cut but couldn’t make out a make or model for a large vehicle that left the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. that evening.

Criminal Mischief on Ringold Street

The owner of the Prima Hotel at 502 Ringold St. reported that after a renter checked out on May 24, he discovered damage on three walls of the room.

Police on scene observed seven X’s carved into the walls with a sharp object.

Bicycles Stolen on Church Street

A woman reported on May 24 that someone removed three bicycles from her back porch in the 300 block of Church Street on May 22.

Two were specialized bikes and the third was a pink and purple child’s bike.

Hit and Run on Gay Street

A woman reported hearing a crash shortly after midnight on May 25.

She saw some light damage to her vehicle, which was parked in the 300 block of Gay Street. Police questioned a nearby driver, who denied doing the damage.

Theft on Christman Street

Someone stole the frame of a pipe bender between May 14 and May 21 in the unit block of Christman Street.

In addition, accessories were stolen, totaling about 40 to 50 pounds of aluminum. The items were removed from an unlocked shed. The owner of the pipe bender and aluminum contacted the scrap yard but was unable to locate the items there.

Open Container on Bridge Street

Police reported finding David Sligh, 51, of Phoenixville, drinking a Coors Light beer in his vehicle in the 100 block of Bridge Street at 5:45 p.m. on May 25.

Sligh was cited for an open container violation.

DUI Arrest After Crash at Franklin and Grant Streets

Jennifer Allen, 27, was arrested for driving under the influence after she was involved in a crash at Franklin and Grant streets shortly before 10:47 p.m. on May 28.

Theft on Franklin Avenue

A woman reported that someone was on a property in the 300 block of Franklin Avenue taking scrap metal on May 23 and May 25.

Armrest Removed on Bridge Street

A woman reported that someone removed a driver’s side armrest from the door of an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Bridge Street.

The incident occurred between May 26 at 7 p.m. and May 27 at 6 p.m.

Public Drunkenness on Bridge Street

An officer observed an intoxicated male in the 200 block of Bridge Street t 11:54 p.m. on May 28.

William McCartney, 31, was cited for public drunkenness.

Open Container on Bridge Street

An officer noticed a male walking in the 200 block of Bridge Street with an open bottle of light beer.

David Jones, 24, of Reading, was cited for an open container violation.
