Phoenixville Police Blotter: Couch Fire, Equipment Theft and More

The following were reported between April 18 and 21.

Couch Fire on Wheatland Street

Two males were seen running from a couch that was lit on fire behind the 700 block of Wheatland Street shortly before 3:51 p.m. on April 20.

Police were unable to locate the men, and the fire company handled the couch fire.

Equipment Stolen at Pat’s Pizza

A thief or thieves removed one compactor valued at $7,500 and another valued at $2,500 between 4 p.m. April 19 at 11:30 a.m. April 20.

The theft occurred at Pat’s Pizza, located at Nutt Road and Bridge Street. The trailer where the compactors were kept was unlocked.

Man Punches Woman on Rhoades Street

Alan Coleman, 33, was arrested after a victim reported he punched her in the face on April 20 shortly before 6:11 a.m.

Police noted that the victim did have injuries consistent with what was described.

Hoagie Theft at Giant

A 55-year-old Phoenixville man was observed at Giant on Nutt Road trying to remove two hoagies shortly before 5:40 p.m. on April 20.

Management did not wish to press charges. The constable was called as the man had warrants, and the constable directed the man to district court.

Missing Person Found on the Gay Street Bridge

A clerk at Phoenixville Hospital reported that a 24-year-old man was missing from the emergency room for 10 minutes on April 19 at 11:04 p.m.

The man was awaiting crisis evaluation. Police found him crossing the Gay Street bridge, and he was returned to the emergency room for treatment.

Cars Broken Into on Freemont Street

A victim reported that someone entered two unlocked cars in the 400 block of Freemont Street during the overnight hours between April 20 and April 21.

Nothing was taken and no damage was done.

DUI at Church and Bridge Streets

Someone called to report an erratic driver at 7:15 p.m. on April 21. The woman followed a car from Pottstown and noticed it swerving and crossing the center line.

Phoenixville Police stopped the vehicle at Church and Bridge streets and arrested Leo Plocicki for driving under the influence.

CD Stolen at Kmart

Kenneth William Kilne Jr., 19, was arrested for retail theft shortly after 1:30 p.m. on April 19.

According to police, Kline stole a CD valued at $9.99. He was processed and released after being given a summary offense.

Criminal Mischief on Roskeen Court

Police received a call at 10:08 p.m. on April 18 that someone drove into the complex very fast, stopped in front of a residence in the 100 block, grabbed a recycling bin and threw it across the street.

The complainant said when she saw the man, he turned off his lights and drove away at a high speed. The only damage was to the recycling bin, and no one could identify the man, according to police.

He was described as a white male in his 20s with blonde hair and a thin build driving a gold Chrysler.

Criminal Mischief at Rite Aid

A woman reported that someone had used a key or sharp object to write a three-letter swear word into the hood of her grandmother’s car.

The car was damaged on April 10 while parked at the Rite Aid at 200 Kimberton Road. Police said the letters were approximately three inches high.

Theft at Phoenixville Hospital

Clark King, 29, of Coatesville, removed epinephrine, dopamine and narcan from two sealed medical carts at Phoenixville Hospital shortly before 3:30 a.m. April 18.

King was arraigned and held on $10,000 bail. Following a preliminary hearing, King’s bail was set at $5,000 with a 10 percent option.

Criminal Mischief on Washington Avenue

A victim reported that someone threw a rock through the side window of a home in the 500 block of Washington Avenue shortly before 8:40 p.m. on April 21.

There weren’t any witnesses, and police couldn’t locate any suspects in the area.

Possible Trespassing in the Black Rock Tunnel

Three men wearing blue running suits were walking through the Black Rock Tunnel, a complainant reported at 1 a.m. April 18.

When police went to check out the claim, the men weren’t found.

Dog Attacked on Roskeen Court

A woman called to report to police that her dog had been attacked by two dogs owned by a neighbor.

The incident occurred before 1 a.m. on April 19. Police wrote up a report for the record, and the two parties involved agreed to work out compensation for medical bills.

Cursing Reported at Morris Street Park

A woman called to report that 10-year-old children cursed at Morris Street Park on April 21 at 1:36 p.m. Police said the report was unfounded.
