Phoenixville Police Blotter: Drug Arrests on Kimberton Road

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between Nov. 26 and Dec. 9 in the borough of Phoenixville. This does not show all incidents during this time period and is only a sampling of police reports.

Drug Arrests on Kimberton Road

Two Phoenixville men face drug charges after police allegedly found them smoking marijuana in an apartment in the Village of Pickering Run at 800 Kimberton Road at 3:23 p.m. on Dec. 4.

Police responded to a report of an odor of burnt marijuana coming from an apartment. On arrival, police saw Taylor Bearden, 26, coming out of the apartment. Officers entered and saw suspected marijuana in plain view, according to the police report. Joseph Harkins, 25, and Bearden were arrested and another man was sent on his way.

Harkins had a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver held over for county court along with related charges.

Bearden was charged with three misdemeanor drug charges and a hearing is scheduled for Jan. 19 in district court. Harkins posted 10 percent of $5,000 bail and is currently awaiting trial.

Fleeing and Eluding in the 200 Block of Bridge Street

An officer was traveling eastbound in a patrol car in the 200 block of Bridge Street on Dec. 8 at 1:09 a.m. when a 1980s red and gray Chevrolet Silverado truck traveling westbound crossed the double yellow line into the officer’s lane.

The officer turned the patrol car around and the Chevrolet was then traveling at a high rate of speed over the Gay Street bridge. The officer turned on the patrol car’s lights and the truck made a left through a red light at Franklin Avenue and West High Street and then ran several stop signs before the officer lost sight of the vehicle.

The truck most likely continued on Mowere Road into East Pikeland Township. Police were unable to locate the truck.

Noise, Fireworks Reported at Church

On Dec. 9 at approximately 10:09 p.m., a man told police that at least four cars full of juveniles were in the parking lot at 865 Main St., First United Methodist Church.

The man said the juveniles were setting off fireworks and being noisy. When police arrived, the juveniles could not be located.

Burglary on Riverview Circle

A Savage 7mm Magnum rifle in a black case was removed from an open garage in the 900 block of Riverview Circle sometime between 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 4.

There were no suspects at the time the report was filed.

$2K in Gold Coins Reported Stolen on Brower Street

A man told police that $2,000 in gold coins went missing from his residence in the 300 block of Brower Street.

The theft occurred sometime before 5:37 p.m. on Dec. 4. There were suspects in the case.

Woman’s Truck Struck Twice in One Day

A woman reported two incidents that involved damage to her 2008 Ford F150 truck, which was parked in the 400 block of West High Street.

During the overnight or early morning hours on Nov. 26, the truck sustained minor damage to the body on the left side behind the left wheel.

Later in the morning, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a silver truck traveling west on High Street struck a side mirror with its passenger side mirror and fled the scene. A witness snapped a photo and police were able to contact the driver in that incident.

The driver said he didn’t realize he’d hit anything and both parties exchanged insurance information.

Satanic Writing on Walls at Bistro on Bridge

Someone left graffiti saying “Satan” and “666” on the walls of the men’s bathroom at the Bistro on Bridge, 208 Bridge St.

The writing was discovered on Dec. 2 shortly before 12:39 a.m.

Woman Arrested for Drugs on Bridge Street

Brianna Davis, 20, was arrested for a drug violation and other offenses after police allegedly discovered her leaning out of a green Saab sedan on the 200 block of Bridge Street, throwing up.

Police allegedly found a “pot pipe” and marijuana in plain view. The incident occurred at 2 a.m. on Nov. 27.

Graffiti on the Veterans Memorial Gay Street Bridge

Someone called to report that two male juveniles wearing black jackets were writing “Bede” in black spray paint in a cutout on the Veterans Memorial Gay Street Bridge shortly before 1:13 p.m. on Dec. 5.

The juveniles were gone when police arrived and police were unable to locate them.

Muffler, Hubcaps Stolen on Westridge Drive

Sometime between Dec. 3 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 5 someone removed the muffler and passenger-side hubcaps from a 1999 Toyota Corolla parked in the 800 block of Westridge Drive.

All items that were removed were left with the vehicle. Those responsible also flattened the tire on the front passenger side of the Toyota.

iPhone Stolen at Phoenixville High School

A woman’s iPhone 4S was stolen from her desk on Dec. 1 at approximately 2:25 p.m. at Phoenixville High School, 1200 Gay St.

Police were investigating the theft, which was reported Dec. 6 at 12:21 p.m.

iPhone Stolen at High School

A woman reported on Dec. 8 at 3:25 p.m. that her black iPhone valued at $400 was stolen from 1200 Gay St., Phoenixville High School.

The phone was in a black carrying case.

Woman’s Purse Stolen from Columbia Bar and Grille

A woman called police and told an officer that her purse was stolen sometime on Dec. 2 from the Columbia Bar and Grille located at 148 Bridge St.

The purse contained identification and several credit and debit cards. The purse was reported stolen on Dec. 2 at 11:08 p.m.

DVD Case Stolen on Bridge Street

A man reported that a DVD case with $200 worth of DVDs inside was missing from his apartment in the 100 block of Bridge Street.

There were no signs of forced entry and there were other valuables in sight that were left undisturbed, according to police. The theft was reported on Dec. 8 at 10:08 p.m.

Package Stolen from Church Street Home

A woman told police she saw a six-foot tall male wearing a gray fleece jacket, a shoulder bag and a red hat remove a package from the porch of a home in the 300 block of Church Street shortly before 5:34 p.m. on Dec. 6.

The resident of the home said the package contained a power washer. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Marijuana Arrest on Main Street

Police stopped a 1994 Dodge Dakota because the vehicle had a broken driver’s side tail light on Dec. 3 at 9:04 p.m. in the 800 block of Main Street.

An officer spoke with the driver, Joshua Takach, 22, who allegedly admitted smoking marijuana three hours before the stop. The police report also states that Takach told police about a glass marijuana pipe under the driver’s seat.

In district court, a charge of use/possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn and a summary offense of no rear lights was moved to a traffic offense and a disorderly conduct charge was moved to a non-traffic offense.

Car Window Broken on Dayton Street

A man reported that the rear window of his 2012 Fiat 500 was broken between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 9.

Police searched the area and were unable to locate anything that could have been used to break the window. The car was parked in the 300 block of Dayton Street.

Hit and Run at Gay and Morgan Streets

A couple reported seeing a gray Honda Civic or Accord sedan strike a 2009 Honda Civic, which was parked near the intersection of Gay and Morgan streets.

Damage to the striking vehicle would be along the front passenger side, according to police. The incident was reported on Dec. 2 at 11:32 p.m.

Hit and Run at Lincoln Avenue and Hall Street

Someone struck a 2000 Ford Escort that was parked near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Hall Street sometime between 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 12 a.m. on Dec. 3, according to police.

The Ford’s passenger-side mirror was broken off and the door on the passenger side was scratched.

Hit and Run on Nutt Road

A gray four-door sedan sideswiped a parked Mitsubishi in the 400 block of Nutt Road before fleeing westbound on Dec. 6 shortly before 4:25 p.m.

The incident caused minor damage to the Mitsubishi.

Hit and Run at Flippin’ Pizza

A 1998 gold Mercury Tracer backed into a man’s vehicle and left the scene in the parking lot of Flippin’ Pizza at 102 Village Way.

The hit and run occurred shortly before 12:52 p.m. on Dec. 5.

Hit and Run on Black Rock Road

A woman reported hearing a loud bang and when she looked out at Black Rock Road near Riverwalk Drive, she told police she saw a tan sedan that had struck a utility pole.

The vehicle fled northbound on Route 113. The incident was reported on Nov. 29 at 2:42 p.m.

Hit and Run on Nutt Road

Between 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 6, someone struck a 2011 silver Lexus parked in the 600 block of Nutt Road.

The Lexus was parked in a rear lot and sustained damage to the left front.

Hit and Run at Prospect and Gay Streets

A man was traveling south on Gay Street in a 2007 Hyundai Elantra when a vehicle pulled out from Prospect Street and struck the front left side of his vehicle.

The man pulled the Hyundai to the side of the road, along with the other vehicle, but the striking vehicle then took off. The incident occurred on Dec. 7 shortly before 4:33 p.m.

Stolen Car Reported on Second Avenue and B Street

A man reported that his tan 1998 Chrysler Sebring coupe was stolen sometime between Oct. 7 and Oct. 24.

The incident was reported on Nov. 27 at 4:09 p.m. The man told police he left the car at Second Avenue and B Street and when he went to check on the car it was no longer there.

Alleged DUI at Dayton and Emmett Streets

Michelle Rymarowicz, 33, of Phoenixville, was arrested for driving under the influence after she allegedly struck multiple parked vehicles near the intersection of Dayton and Emmett streets on Nov. 27 shortly before 5:27 p.m.

Juvenile Allegedly Stole Candy Bar from Wawa

Phoenixville police cited a 15-year-old juvenile after being dispatched to the Wawa at 120 Schuylkill Road for a retail theft.

When officers arrived at approximately 1 a.m. on Nov. 26, they discovered the teen allegedly took a candy bar without paying for it. Police cited the juvenile and drove him home.

Theft Reported at Sears Hardware

A dark-haired white male, standing approximately six feet, two inches tall, was spotted by a manager stealing a set of stubby ratcheting wrenches from Sears Hardware, 700 Nutt Road, on Dec. 1 shortly before 6:08 p.m.

The man fled the store and got into a blue Saab 900S driven by another white male. Police were investigating. The wrench set was valued at $69.99.

Man Cited After Attempting to Break Into His Home on Railroad Street

Kermit Waller, 72, was cited by police after they saw him attempting to gain entry to his property on the first block of Railroad Street through a rear porch window.

When he was confronted about this, Waller allegedly began resisting police.

A summary offense for disorderly conduct was later withdrawn in district court.

Juvenile Reportedly Had Drugs at Phoenixville High School

A high school employee told police that a 17-year-old student was found in possession of illegal drugs at Phoenixville Area High School, 1200 Gay St.

The incident was reported on Dec. 1 at 9:32 a.m. Police processed and released the juvenile.

Student Allegedly Gave Adderall to Others

According to police, a 15-year-old student at Phoenixville Area High School, 1200 Gay St., had Adderall capsules and gave the prescription drugs to two other male students.

On Dec. 1 at approximately 1:53 p.m., police were called and they charged the student. He was processed and released to his parents.

Vandalism Reported at Downtown Bar

Management of the Pickering Creek Inn reported to police that unknown perpetrators wrote all over the walls of the men’s room restroom during the morning hours of Nov. 28.

The incident was being investigated.

Motorcycle Damaged on Mill Street

A man called police to report that his 2008 Honda motorcycle was damaged between Nov. 23 and Nov. 27.

He said the motorcycle had scratches on both sides and damage to the front brake assembly. The damage was reported on Nov. 28 at 5:44 p.m.
