Juvenile Caught Trying to Break Into deSanno Field Snack Bar

A woman reported two males and a female inside the fence at deSanno Field at Mason and Wheatland streets on June 22 at 10:24 p.m.

When police arrived, a group of juveniles were stopped. All but one, a 15-year-old boy, were sent on their way. The 15-year-old fled toward the woods but emerged approximately 45 minutes later, when he was taken into custody.

At the snack bar, police reported finding a screen cut with metal shears that were found in bag on the scene. The bag also contained the 15-year-old’s cell phone, according to police, although the boy denied involvement.

Charges were pending.

Woman Assaulted at Bridge and Buchanan Streets

On June 22 at 11:10 p.m., a nurse in the Phoenixville Hospital emergency room reported to police that a woman had come in after being assaulted.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, said she was walking to the Shell station in the 500 block of Bridge Street when three males came out of nowhere and attacked her, according to the police report.

The woman said the males hit her multiple times, but did not take anything from her. She said she did not know any of the assailants, and she could not give a description of them.

Deceptive Business Practice on Main Street

A woman paid a man $900 to install a deck on a property in the unit block of South Main Street, but the man didn’t perform any of the work, according to a police report.

The victim reported the issue to police on June 22 at 9:40 a.m. Police contacted the man, who was paid on April 19. The officer told the man to either refund the money or complete the job or he could be arrested.

Stolen Credit Card Used at Shell Station

On June 22 at 5:30 p.m., a woman reported that someone stole her Wells Fargo debit card.

She said she phoned the bank, who told her someone had withdrawn $40 using the card at the Shell station at 508 Bridge St.

Police were investigating.

Cat’s Paw Stuck on Morgan Street           

An officer used his baton to separate a door from its frame to help free a cat’s trapped paw.

The incident happened in the 300 block of Morgan Street on June 20 at 3:14 a.m. The cat was stuck in a bedroom door.

Sign Knocked Over on Gay Street

An unknown person toppled a large sign in the 300 block of Gay Street sometime between June 16 and 17.

The criminal mischief was reported on June 20.

Unknown Substance Hurled at Car at Dayton and High Streets

A woman reported that at approximately 5 p.m. on June 20, a small child threw a sticky clear substance at her vehicle as she passed the intersection of Dayton and High streets.

Police were unable to locate the child, who as wearing a pink shirt and was said to be between ages 6 and 7.

Newspaper Stolen on Bridge Street

Someone reported a tall, thin man with a black umbrella stealing a newspaper from outside the front door of a location in the 200 block of Bridge Street.

The theft was reported on June 21 at 5:50 a.m.

Dog Left in Car at Acme

A woman reported a dog left in the Acme parking lot, 785 Starr St., with the windows up on June 21 at 4:35 p.m.

Upon arrival, police said the dog was fine but wouldn’t stop barking. The police notified the owner, who had the dog taken home.
