Phoenixville Police Blotter: Man Reports Smoking Too Much Marijuana

The following incidents occurred between April 22 and 24.

Juvenile Reports Smoking Too Much Pot

A 17-year-old male called 911 and told them he had “smoked too much ‘legal’ marijuana,” according to a report.

Police responded at 9:54 p.m. on April 22 and found the juvenile sitting in front of the Foundry Building at 2 N. Main St. The juvenile had vomited, was breathing heavy and slurring speech and kept hitting his leg, according to police.

The officer noticed an odor of alcohol on the juvenile, who told the officer he smoked “four ‘blunts.’”

The juvenile was taken to Phoenixville Hospital by ambulance and his mother was notified. Police issued citations for public drunkenness and underage drinking.

Disturbance on SEPTA Bus at Church and Main

A bus driver for a SEPTA bus said that a female was refusing to exit the bus shortly before 11:16 a.m. on April 24.

Upon arrival, police found a woman with special needs who said she was attempting to return home from Philadelphia. The woman lives in Eagleville, and Phoenixville police took the woman to Collegeville and contacted Lower Providence police who assisted the woman.

Open Container on Bridge Street

West Stafford Durham, 33, of Phoenixville, was observed by Phoenixville Police walking in the 100 block of Bridge Street and drinking a glass of beer.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:26 a.m. on April 22. Durham was cited for an open container violation. The Harp’s glass was returned to Molly Maguire’s Restaurant and Pub.

Theft at LuLu’s Boutique

Theives entered a shop located in the unit block of South Main Street and removed various items without paying.

The theft was reported on April 22 at 2:30 p.m.

Hit and Run at Routes 23 and 113

A woman reported that on April 22 at approximately 4:45 p.m. a vehicle rear-ended her 2005 Nissan Maxima.

The victim pulled her car to the side of the road near the intersection of routes 23 and 113, but the vehicle that hit her kept going. She could not give a description of the vehicle.

Public Drunkenness in the 200 Block of Bridge Street

George Franklin Clark, 39, Phoenixville, was observed by poilce drinking from an open can of Joose Cherry Lime malt liquor.

The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. on April 23. Clark was cited for public drunkenness and an open container violation.

Dog in Vehicle with Closed Windows in the Kmart Parking Lot

Police received a report of a dog in a car with the windows closed in the Kmart parking lot at 1000 Nutt Rd. on April 24 at 12:40 p.m.

An officer spoke to the owner of the vehicle and she said that a window was slightly lowered. The owner was cautioned about leaving the dog in the car in warm weather.

Theft of a Safe on Gay Street

A woman reported that the last time she saw a safe containing approximately $5,000 worth of jewelry, a Social Security card, passport and birth certificate was around Christmas.

She told police that unknown thieves took the safe from her residence in the 400 block of Gay Street.

The woman said she wanted a report for insurance and not an investigation.

Criminal Mischief to Vehicle on High Street

Police were called to the 500 block of High Street on April 24 at approximately 9:26 p.m. for a report of damage to a vehicle’s mirror.

The glass and cover were knocked off of the mirror on the driver’s side of the car. The mirror snapped back into place. The complainant didn’t know if someone hit the mirror with a car or if something else happened to it.

DUI on Freemont and Fillmore

Police arrested Denise Putz, 44, for driving under the influence following an accident investigation and a failed field sobriety test on April 23 at approximately 8:11 p.m.

She was processed and released.

Animal Complaint on Mowere and Township Line

Police were called for a report of a Rottweiler and pit bull roaming around in the area near the Mowere and Township Line roads shortly before 8:09 a.m. on April 24.

Police checked the area but couldn’t locate the dogs.

Theft on High Street

A man from the 100 block of High Street reported that $150 in cash and his license were stolen from his wallet on the evening of April 23.

Police were called at 9:44 p.m. on April 24, and the man wanted a report for the record.

Bed Liner Stolen from Family Dollar Parking Lot

A victim reported that someone stole a bed liner out of a Ford Ranger between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on April 21.

The truck was parked in the Family Dollar parking lot, off of Bridge Street. The bed liner was valued at $300.

Diamond Ring Stolen on Harrison Avenue

A woman came to the police station to report her diamond ring, valued at $3,600, stolen on April 22 at 4:37 p.m.

She stated that she removed the ring to cook dinner on April 21 and when she went to get it, the ring was gone.

Hit and Run on Bridge Street

A hit and run was reported in the 1000 block of West Bridge Street on April 22 at 1:56 p.m.

A Toyota Sequoia had damage on the front passenger side door. Police noted that the striking vehicle was likely a pickup truck or other tall vehicle.

Disturbance on Rhoades Street

Police were called to the 500 block of Rhoades Street on April 22 at 1:33 p.m. for a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman.

When police arrived, the man was not present, and everything seemed OK. When police attempted to reach the complainant about the report, he did not answer the phone.
