Phoenixville Police Blotter: Potential Thief Surprised by Garage Opener

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between June 5 and June 8.

Attempted Theft on Vanderslice Street

A man was awakened by the sound of his garage door opening and when he went outside to take a look, he discovered that a potential thief had accidentally activated the garage door opener while rummaging through the unlocked car.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:05 a.m. on June 8. Nothing was taken from the vehicle, which was parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Vanderslice Street.

Cars Broken Into on Onward Avenue

A woman told police that unknown thieves rooted through her car and her husband’s car in the 500 block of Onward Avenue.

Approximately three dollars in currency was removed from the victim’s car. Nothing was missing from the other car. The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on June 5 and 7:05 a.m. on June 6. Both vehicles were unlocked.

Car Broken Into on Onward Avenue

A thief or thieves who rummaged through an unlocked car parked in the 600 block of Onward Avenue stole approximately three dollars in change.

The incident occurred between 8 p.m. on June 5 and 8:30 a.m. on June 6.

Car Broken Into on Bridge Street

A man reported that someone entered his car between 10 p.m. on June 5 and 6:50 a.m. on June 6 and rummaged through it.

The break-in occurred in the 500 block of Bridge Street. The man said he believes the vehicle was locked, and nothing was reported missing.

Patio Table Glass Broken on Jackson Street

Between 10 a.m. and 12:45 on June 6, someone shattered the glass on a patio table in the 100 bock of Jackson Street.

The table was located on a deck and was moved approximately eight feet from its usual spot when the broken glass was discovered.

Money Stolen on Bridge Street

A man reported that between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on June 6, someone kicked down his door in the unit block of Bridge Street and stole $72.

GPS Stolen on Washington Avenue

Between 7 p.m. on June 6 and 11:16 a.m. on June 7, someone removed a Garmin GPS from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Washington Avenue.

Money Stolen from Car on Washington Avenue

Sometime between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on June 8, a thief removed approximately $50 from a car in the 500 block of Washington Avenue.

Registration and Insurance Stolen from Woodlawn Avenue

A man reported that someone stole the registration and insurance cards from a Toyota parked in the 800 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

The theft occurred between 12:30 p.m. on June 5 and 3:30 a.m. on June 6. The vehicle was unlocked.

Drug Possession in Reservoir Park

An officer noticed two vehicles unoccupied at Reservoir Park shortly before 11 p.m. on June 8.

When the officer went to investigate, he found four males lying in the grass in an attempt to hide.

Three received citations for trespassing. The fourth, Lucas Findeison, 20, was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to the police report, along with a smoking pipe.

Findeison was arrested, processed and released.

Urination in Taylor Alley Lot

Chirstopher A. Machon, 46, of Audubon, was cited for urinating in the Taylor Alley municipal lot on June 5 at approximately 2:09 a.m.

Open Container on the French Creek Bike Trail

Roger Dambrosio, 37, of Phoenixville, was spotted by police with an open can of Labatt’s beer on the French Creek Bicycle Trail shortly before 5:32 p.m. on June 8.

Dambrosio received a citation.

Urination on Main Street

Glenn Galie, 44, of Royersford, was cited after police saw him urinating in the parking lot in the 100 block of Main Street on June 8 at 6:36 p.m.

Reports of Criminal Mischief on Davids Run

A woman called to report someone throwing rocks and baseballs at the houses along Davids Run from either the PECO ball field or the railroad tracks.

Police were unable to locate those responsible. The incident was reported on June 5 at 5:37 p.m.
