Phoenixville Police Blotter: Man Punched in Face

Man Punched in Face on High Street

A man with blood streaming from a cut over his eye came into the Phoenixville Police station on June 14 at 10:34 p.m.

The victim claimed a man had punched him in the face in the 100 block of High Street. The man gave a detailed description of the assailant and was then taken to Phoenixville Hospital, where he received seven stitches.

Police searched the area and saw Kevin Heck, 31, walking on North Street toward High Street. Heck matched the description given by the victim. When he saw an officer, Heck fled on foot.

When shown a lineup, the victim picked Heck out. Police issued a warrant for Heck’s arrest.

Residents Confront Duo Who Broke Into Building on High Street

Fady Fransoo, 24, and Ahmed Abdel Jalil, 19, broke the door at a building in the 200 block of High Street and gained entry to the building on June 14 shortly before 7:14 p.m., according to police.

When they were spotted, the pair fled on foot toward Main Street, where they were confronted by residents. The two were detained at Main and Vanderslice streets and witnesses identified them as the ones who’d broken into the building.

During the search, Jalil had a small amount of marijuana on him, according to police.

They were processed and video arraigned, with bail set at $10,000 or 10 percent.

Purse Stolen at Kmart

A thief stole a purse from a woman at the Kmart store located on Nutt Road, according to police.

The theft happened on June 14 shortly before 11:07 a.m. The woman put her purse down to look at merchandise, and when she returned, it was gone. According to police, the purse contained identification, credit cards, an iPhone and $150 in cash.

Hit and Run at Gateway Pharmacy

A man got out of his truck to examine the damage on a vehicle he’d just hit and then fled the scene on June 14 shortly before 3:55 p.m.

The vehicle that was struck was parked in the Gateway Pharmacy lot at 165 Nutt Rd. The man who fled was driving a green Dodge Ram and was described as a white male in his 50s, five-foot-11 inches tall and 210 pounds with gray hair, a scruffy beard and a black POW shirt.

Hit and Run on Bridge and Main Streets

Erica Francella, 22, of Phoenixville, backed into a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer legally parked near the intersection of Bridge and Main streets shortly after 11 p.m. on June 17, according to a police report.

Francella left the scene and was followed by police, who stopped her at Starr and Prospect streets. Her vehicle had damage to the trunk lid, police reported.

After she stopped the car, police had her perform field sobriety tests. Francella was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and released later that night.

Theft from Friendship Field

Four black steel grates, four feet by one foot, were stolen from a drainage line along the Franklin Avenue side of Friendship Field, according to police.

Police checked Phoenix Scrap Yard and located the four grates, which were returned to the drainage line. Employees at the scrap yard weren’t sure who had brought the grates in. The theft was reported on June 16 at 9:50 a.m.

Theft from Giant on Nutt Road

A white male wearing an orange shirt and khaki shorts and driving a blue Dodge Caravan left the Giant supermarket without paying for $20 worth of fireworks, according to police.

The theft occurred on June 17 shortly before 2:06 a.m.

Credit Cards, Checks, $800 Stolen from Vehicle at the Polish Club

A man parked his vehicle at the Polish Club at 328 High St. between 8 and 8:30 p.m. on June 17.

A thief removed a blue bag from the unlocked van during that time. The bag contained checks, credit cards and $800.

Car Windows Smashed on Bridge Street

Between 6 p.m. on June 14 and 9:30 a.m. on June 15, someone broke both side front windows of a Mercury van parked in the 500 block of Bridge Street.

The vehicle was parked, disabled and awaiting repair at the time the windows were smashed.

Laptop Stolen at the Epicurean

A laptop valued at $4,000 was reportedly stolen at the Epicurean Restaurant, located at 402 Village at Eland.

The theft occurred on June 13 or June 14.

Open Container on Bridge Street

Heather Altiero, 32, of Collegeville was spotted by police with a red plastic cup containing an alcoholic beverage in the 200 block of Bridge Street at 10:55 p.m. on June 17.

Altiero was cited for an open container violation.
