Phoenixville Police Blotter: Thieves Haul Off With a Ton of Rock

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between May 9 and May 11.

Exotic Rock Stolen on Second Avenue

A victim reported that he noticed three or four times that someone removed exotic rock from a location in the unit block of Second Avenue.

The complainant noted that rock was last removed between 5:30 or 6 p.m. on May 9 and 6:45 a.m. on May 10.

The victim reported that approximately a ton of rock, valued at $900, was removed so far.

Philadelphia Sports Stickers Placed on Vehicle on Railroad Street

A victim reported that her car was vandalized in the unit block of Railroad Street.

She had the car for a week and wasn’t sure when the incident happened, but she said that an unknown actor put Philadelphia Eagles stickers on her bumper.

In a previous incident approximately three weeks prior to May 10, someone placed Philadelphia Phillies stickers on top of her New York Yankees stickers on the bumper of her old car.

Boat Motor Stolen on Cromby Road

Unknown thieves removed a motor from a boat sometime after 3 p.m. on May 7.

The boat was secured to a private dock on the Schuylkill River in the unit block of Cromby Road.

Car Break-in on Cherry Street

Unknown actors entered a car parked in the 900 block of Cherry Street between 8:30 p.m. on May 9 and 8:15 a.m. on May 10.

Contents were tossed around the interior of the vehicle but nothing was believed to be missing.

Car Damaged on First Avenue

A victim reported that two males knocked over a basketball pole onto a vehicle in the 400 block of First Avenue shortly before 6:23 p.m. on May 10.

The victim chased the suspects after being told by a witness about the incident. Police questioned the suspects and citations were pending.

Wallet Stolen on High Street

A victim was outside smoking at approximately 10:30 p.m. on May 10 and left his door unlocked in the 300 block of West High Street.

When he returned he noticed his wallet was missing. The wallet contained an Access card and approximately $150 in cash.

Trespassing and Warrant Service on Nutt Road

Alexander James Ugarte, 21, was evicted by the constable at 9 a.m. on May 11 but returned to an apartment in the unit block of Nutt Road to go to sleep.

Police spoke with the constable shortly after noon and found that Ugarte had four non-traffic warrants held by the constable.

Ugarte was taken into custody on warrants and also cited for trespassing.

Hit and Run at Gay Street and Nutt Road

A car struck the left front fender of another vehicle shortly before 2:32 p.m. on May 11 and fled the scene.

The car was likely a Volkswagen, as police found a piece of the car marked “VW.”

Juvenile Smoking Marijuana on Anderson Avenue

A juvenile was arrested in the 300 block of Anderson Avenue when he was caught smoking marijuana on the way to school.

The incident occurred on May 11 at 7:30 a.m.

Car Break-in on Eland Downe

Between 11 p.m. on May 9 and 6 a.m. on May 10, someone entered a car in the 1800 block of Eland Downe and disturbed the vehicle’s contents.

Nothing was removed.

Paint Can Thrown on Roof on Bridge Street

A woman reported that someone threw a paint can onto the roof of Meaney’s Carpets at 609 Bridge St.

Officers attempted to make contact with a nearby property owner but the person was not home at the time.

Syringe Found on Sidewalk at Prospect and Starr

A man found a syringe on the sidewalk near the intersection of Prospect and Starr streets on May 9 shortly before 4:11 p.m.

Police took the syringe to the station and placed it in the sharps container.

Phone Stolen on Bridge Street

A woman reported that someone removed her cell phone from her purse between 1:30 and 2 a.m. on May 7.

The theft reportedly occurred at Club 212, located at 212 Bridge Street.
