Phoenixville Police Blotter: Tires, Wheels Stolen from Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between Dec. 9 and Dec. 19 in the borough of Phoenixville. This does not show all incidents during this time period and is only a sampling of police reports.

Tires, Wheels, Car Parts Stolen from Car on Fourth Avenue

A man told police someone removed all four tires and wheels, both bucket seats, a Kenwood head unit, the front bumper, the air intake and the fuel injectors from a 2006 Acura RSX parked in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue sometime during the weekend before Dec. 13.

The man also noticed that his battery was disconnected, which disabled the alarm for the car. The man had suspects in mind.

Theft Reported at Morris Cemetery

A bulldozer battery, a large chain and 12 steel guides were reportedly taken from Morris Cemetery at 428 Nutt Road sometime between Dec. 9 and Dec. 13.

The items were valued between $300 and $400.

Marijuana Arrest on Penn Street

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and found Ameen Abrams, 29, in a 1998 Buick LeSabre sedan parked in the 100 block of Penn Street.

Abrams allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana and handed an officer a blunt that Abrams said contained marijuana, according to the police report. The incident occurred on Dec. 19 at 11:47 p.m. He was charged with drug possession and related charges and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 2.

Theft Reported on Franklin Avenue

A woman reported that she was missing two plates, a stack of bread plates, seven water goblets, six wine goblets and pearl ring from her home in the first block of Franklin Avenue on Dec. 12 at 1:52 p.m.

The items were valued at $300. The woman said she had a suspect in mind.

Juveniles Arrested for Stealing From Delivered Box

Two 16-year-old juveniles were charged with theft and related charges after they entered a back yard in the 200 block of Washington Avenue, went through a recently delivered postal box and removed several items, according to police.

The incident occurred on Dec. 19 shortly before 10:53 a.m. When an officer stopped the boys, they allegedly had numerous items that were removed from the box in their possession. The postmaster and postal inspector were both notified.

Criminal Mischief at Shell Station

A woman reported that the front door of the Shell Station at 508 Bridge St. was smashed.

When police arrived at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 18, an officer reported that the glass was shattered but still in the door. Officers could not locate a projectile. Whatever struck the door broke through one pane of glass but did not make it all the way through the second pane. Nothing inside seemed to be touched, according to police.

Alleged DUI at Gay and Bridge Streets

Police saw a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee allegedly make an illegal right turn on red at Bridge and Gay streets on Dec. 18 at approximately 12:58 a.m.

The Jeep was stopped by police, who spoke with Sean Regan, 23, who was taken to Phoenixville Hospital for blood testing and charged with driving under the influence.

DUI Arrest at Main and Prospect Streets

Police stopped a 2007 Toyota Avalon for an alleged traffic violation and took Christine Kissell, 28, into custody for suspected driving under the influence, according to a police report.

The incident occurred on Dec. 11 at approximately 2:33 a.m. Kissell has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 23 in district court.

Alleged DUI on Bridge Street

An officer reported seeing a 2010 Ford Mustang heading down Bridge Street toward Gay Street without headlights on Dec. 11 at approximately 2:17 a.m.

The Ford was stopped in the 200 block of Bridge Street and Joshua Shoffstalt, 25, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence. Shoffstalt has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 16.

Drug Charges on Bridge Street

Kevin Miller, 21, was arrested for public drunkenness, drug possession and other charges after an incident in the first block of Bridge Street on Dec. 15 at approximately 11:31 p.m. 

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 2 in district court.

Prescription Pad Possibly Stolen from Fellowship Health Resources

Someone called at 2:55 p.m. on Dec. 15 to report that a prescription pad may have been stolen from Fellowship Health Resources at 723 Wheatland Street.

The prescription pad may have been taken in November. The caller said she was notified by a pharmacist at a Norristown CVS that an unknown subject attempted to fill a prescription using the missing prescription pad.

Criminal Mischief on First Avenue

A man reported that someone threw an object through his second floor window in the 300 block of First Avenue sometime before 5:03 p.m. on Dec. 15.

The window was shattered, and police had a suspect in mind.

Bike Theft on Hall Street

Two bikes were reported stolen in the first block of Hall Street sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 19.

A black women’s Trek 10-speed road bike valued at $450 and a silver and blue mountain bike valued at $25 were taken.

Hit and Run at Bridge and Starr Streets

A silver Chevy S10 pickup truck struck a Hyundai Sonata from behind and the driver fled the scene on Dec. 14 shortly before 8:08 p.m.

The driver of the Hyundai told police the Chevy driver drove in reverse up Starr Street and then made a left on Prospect Street following the collision. The Hyundai sustained minor damage.

Hit and Run at Phoenixville Hospital

A man reported that someone struck his 2006 BMW 330 while it was parked in the Phoenixville Hospital lot at 140 Nutt Road between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Dec. 15.

Hit and Run at Nutt Road and Starr Street

A Ryder trucking box truck rear-ended a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Nutt Road and Starr Street on Dec. 17 at approximately 1:15 p.m., according to a police report.

The Ryder truck’s driver did not pull over. The Jeep did not sustain damage in the incident but the driver wanted a report for the record.

Hit and Run on Walnut Street

On Dec. 17 at 10:15 a.m., woman flagged an officer down to report that sometime during the overnight hours on Dec. 17, someone broke the driver’s side mirror on her 2008 Kia Sorento, which was parked in the 300 block of Walnut Street.

Hit and Run on Railroad Street

Three men witnessed a Ford truck strike a 2004 Suzuki Verona parked in the first block of Railroad Street on Dec. 16 at approximately 7:22 p.m.

The truck caused damage to the driver’s side rear door of the Suzuki. Police were able to track down the Ford’s driver, and his wife said he didn’t know he struck a vehicle. He agreed to come in for an interview.

Hit and Run on Franklin Avenue

An unknown vehicle traveling southbound in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue sideswiped a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix while the Pontiac was parked in the southbound lanes, according to a police report.

The victim’s back driver’s side door was open at the time and sustained minor damage. The striking vehicle lost a mirror. The incident occurred on Dec. 14 shortly before 5:19 p.m.

Hit and Run on Dianna Drive

A man told police that someone hit his 1996 Ford F-150 while it was parked in the first block of Dianna Drive sometime before 3:50 p.m. on Dec. 14.

Hit and Run on Garfield Avenue

A hit-and-run driver struck a 2006 Ford Explorer parked in the 1200 block of Garfield Avenue.

The Ford sustained damage to the driver’s side of the rear bumper. The incident was reported on Dec. 14 at 3:28 p.m. and occurred during the overnight hours on Dec. 14.

Hit and Run at Kmart

A Toyota Corolla sustained minor damage after being struck on the rear passenger side in the Kmart parking lot at 1000 Nutt Road on Dec. 13 before 11:40 a.m.

Antenna Ripped off at Main Street and First Avenue

A woman reported that someone ripped the antenna off of her 1995 Ford Explorer sometime before 11:41 a.m. on Dec. 16.

The SUV had been parked near the intersection of First Avenue and Main Street.

Criminal Mischief at Phoenix Storage

Someone driving a vehicle, likely with a trailer on the back, damaged a retaining wall at the entrance to Phoenix Storage at 1125 W. Bridge St. sometime before 10:10 a.m. on Dec. 16, according to police.

Prescription Theft Reported on Marshall Street

A woman came to the police station to report 25 Percocet pills missing.

The pills were stolen on Dec. 14. She had a suspect in mind but just wanted a report for the record. The theft occurred in the 100 block of Marshall Street.

Man Charged with Retail Theft at Gateway Pharmacy

Christopher Popichak, 23, allegedly removed $15.97 worth of merchandise from its packaging and concealed it on his person at Gateway Pharmacy, 165 Nutt Road.

The alleged incident occurred on Dec. 15 shortly before 9:27 a.m.

Alleged Retail Theft at Kmart

Jesse Stone Tindall, 19, was arrested for allegedly stealing four packs of Magic Cards totaling $16.92 from Kmart at 1000 Nutt Road on Dec. 14 at 5:55 p.m.

Tindall was taken to the station where he was searched and police reported uncovering a light blue glass smoking pipe in a black leather case. Tindall was charged with retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 2 in district court.
