Phoenixville Police Blotter: Two Men Fight Cops

Identity Theft

A resident of the 4400 block of Eland Down told police on October 2 that someone opened a T-Mobile phone account in his name and without his authority. The thief racked up $1,275 in charges.

Garbage Can Stolen

An 88-year-old resident of the 200 block of Gay Street told police that someone stole his garbage can a number of months ago. He was unable to provide officers any further information.

Man Assaults Girlfriend, Fights Cops

A 40-year-old resident of the 500 block of Bridge Street was arrested on October 2 for assaulting his girlfriend and Phoenixville Police officers, police are reporting. When police arrived at the residence, the victim had injuries to her arms, neck, and head. She stated that George Franklin Clark choked her and beat her until she couldn’t speak. Police said Clark, who was in the kitchen, appeared intoxicated. When police attempted to arrest Clark, he fought back. An officer was injured in the struggle, but Clark was eventually taken into custody.

Man Punches, Breaks, Neighbor’s Wood

On October 1 at 9:35 p.m., a resident of the 500 block of West Bridge Street told police that his neighbor punched and broke a piece of wood that was used to cover up a window. Though the alleged puncher was gone when police arrived, the owner of the wood said he wanted to press charges.

Drunk Man Asleep on Bench

On September 30 at 1:09 a.m. police received report that a man was asleep on a park bench on the corner of Bridge and Starr streets. Officers identified the man, who said he was waiting for his friend to pick him up. Because he was intoxicated and underage, police issued a citation for public drunkenness and underage drinking. He was released to a friend.

Man Harasses Former Date

A 24-year-old Phoenixville woman told police that she was being harassed by a man she had dated twice in July. The woman said the man came to her apartment, uninvited, and knocked several times, then tried to open the door, at 6 a.m. on September 30. She told police she did not want any further contact with the man. Police tried to call him to deliver the message, but he didn’t pick up. They left a voicemail telling him to stay away from the woman.

Purses Stolen From Cars

A purse was stolen from a 2011 Toyota Sienna that was parked at Reservoir Park on September 30. Another purse was stolen from a Mitsubishi on the same date in the park.

In Holding Cell, Man Fights Police

Douglas Mills, the 53-year-old Phoenixville man who was arrested last Friday for allegedly committing an assault and a theft on Bridge Street, allegedly became combative in a holding cell in District Court that afternoon. He injured an officer in the course of the skirmish.

Juveniles Taunt Man and Dog

A resident of the 300 block of First Avenue told police that he was walking his dog on September 28 at 9:28 p.m. when five juveniles began swearing at him for no reason. Police were unable to locate the juveniles.
