Phoenixville Police Blotter: Woman Says She Was Assaulted on Train Tracks

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between Oct. 10 and Oct. 20. This is not a complete list of incidents during that period.

Assault Reported on Train Tracks

A man in the first block of Second Avenue said a 58-year-old woman asked him to call police and an ambulance because she said she was assaulted on the train tracks on Oct. 18.

The woman said she was attacked by a six-foot-tall blue-eyed white male in his 20s. She told police the attack happened at approximately 3:15 p.m. The woman couldn’t give police a location on the assault other than saying it was between the train tracks on Second Avenue and Norristown.

Police said the victim appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and she didn’t want to give any further information. She was taken to Phoenixville Hospital for treatment of minor injuries to her hands.

Student’s Phone Stolen at Barkley Elementary

A woman called police to report that her daughter’s phone, a 3G T-Mobile myTouch, was stolen from her bookbag at Barkley Elementary on Oct. 10 sometime after 2:30 p.m.

The theft was reported on Oct. 13 at 4:55 p.m. Police were investigating.

Suspected Heroin Turned Over to Police

On Oct. 18 at 11:57 a.m., a woman showed up at the Phoenixville Police Station to turn in a small bag of suspected narcotics that she found near a Dumpster near the 600 block of Deger Avenue.

Police took the bag and field tested the substance inside. It tested positive for heroin. Police destroyed the suspected narcotics.

Amplifier Stolen on East Morgan Street

A man came to the police station on Oct. 18 at 1:45 p.m. to report that his roommate, Vincent Pasquarello, 19, took his Line-6 Spyder-III amplifier valued at $200 and sold it at Cash Converters for $50 without permission.

Cash Converters in Pottstown pulled the item off the shelf and held it for police to pick up.

Charges are pending in district court against Pasquarello for theft and receiving stolen property.

Fight on Breckenridge Street

Police were called for a report of two males fighting in the 400 block of Breckenridge Street on Oct. 16 at 6:11 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found a 47-year-old man who stated he’d been fighting with a 46-year-old man, who wasn’t present at the scene when police arrived. The man didn’t want to pursue charges and he was sent on his way.

Employee Charged with Stealing at Radio Shack

According to a police report, a man called to report that Jonathan Villanueva, 25, of Phoenixville, admitted to theft and gave a written statement saying he stole $9,529.23 worth of merchandise from the Radio Shack store at 700 Nutt Road over the last year.

The incident was reported to police on Oct. 13 at 12:23 p.m. Villanueva was charged with felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property. Following an arraignment, bail was set at $7,500 unsecured and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 1.

Eggs Thrown on Callowhill Street

On Oct. 17 at 7:56 p.m., police responded to the 1000 block of Callowhill Street for a report of someone throwing eggs at windows and a side wall of a residence.

Police searched but were unable to find the perpetrators in the area.

DUI on Route 113 at Township Line Road

A sergeant stopped a 2007 Ford Focus driven by Brittany Moore, 25, of Charlestown Township, on Oct. 17 at 11:21 p.m. after allegedly observing a traffic violation at Route 113 and Township Line Road.

Moore was arrested for driving under the influence and she was taken to Phoenixville Hospital, where she refused a chemical test, according to the police report.

She was arraigned on a felony bribery charge along with driving under the influence, escape, resisting arrest and traffic offenses.

Unsecured bail was set at $3,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 8 in district court in Phoenixville.

Bike Stolen on Gay Street

A woman reported that juveniles stole her son’s bike from a front porch in the 600 block of Gay Street sometime before 7:06 p.m. on Oct. 16.

The woman located the bike behind the 7-Eleven on Nutt Road, along with the juveniles who then ran off. No charges were filed but the woman wanted a report for the record.

Vehicle Stolen by Friend on Morris Street

A woman told police that a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt was stolen by a friend, Shannon Clark, 27, on Oct. 14, shortly before 4:10 a.m.

The woman and Clark were staying at a friend’s house, and when the woman woke up, her car, which was parked in the 200 block of Morris Street, was missing.

Phoenixville police were able to contact Clark, who was driving the car around Norristown, according to the police report. A corporal convinced Clark to park the car in the parking lot of the McDonald’s in Norristown. The corporal called Norristown Police, who picked up Clark on warrants and cited her for public drunkenness, the police report states.

The owner of the car, a male, did not wish to press charges for stealing the car.

Guns Stolen on Nutt Road

A man reported that two guns, a .22-caliber revolver and a Winchester .22-caliber rifle, were stolen from a residence in the 500 block of Nutt Road.
The theft was reported on Oct. 13 at 5:43 a.m.

Man Cited for Trespassing at Giant

Thomas Voorhees, 47, is banned from the 700 and 1000 blocks of Nutt Road, was allegedly loitering at the Giant at 700 Nutt Road on Oct. 14.

Police responded at 9:50 p.m., and Voorhees received a citation for criminal trespass.

Mirror Knocked Off on High Street

An unknown driver in an unknown vehicle broke off the driver’s side mirror of a 2005 Toyota Camry between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 15.

A woman reported that the hit-and-run incident occurred in the 500 block of High Street.
