Assault Charges Filed Against Phoenixville Man

According to Phoenixville Police, the assault occurred in Carrie Court Apartments.

A 67-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested Monday after police say he assaulted a woman in his Gay Street apartment.

According to court documents, Monday shortly after 6 p.m., Phoenixville Police responded to Carrie Court Apartments for a report of a domestic dispute, in which the aggressor was James Colton Jones, 67.

Police left the scene without filing any charges, but then 25 minutes later they were called to the same address. The victim, who was uninjured during their initial visit, now had a bruise under her right eye and a cut on her lip, court documents said.

When asked when she got injured, the victim replied, “right after you left the first time,” then when asked who hit her she answered “James did it,” according to court documents.

Jones was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment. He faces preliminary hearing on February 14.
