Phoenixville VFW Donates $5,000 to Project Lifesaver

The program helps caregivers locate loved ones who have wandered away.

At East Pikeland Township's April 9 meeting, the Phoenixville VFW donated $5,000 towards Project Lifesaver.

Project Lifesaver was launched last March in East Pikeland. The program provides the elderly and special needs populations with wristbands that their caregivers, and local law enforcement, can use to track them down if they wander off and get lost.

“Not only does [Project Lifesaver] save the township money, it saves frustration, worry and concern for the person who may be providing care,” East Pikeland Police Officer Ken Smith told Patch last year, while the department was training to use the program.
