Hit-and-Run Truck Driver Sought in East Pikeland Crash

A man driving a green truck knocked over a light post in the Pikeland Village Square parking lot, police say.

The following incidents were reported by the East Pikeland Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction.

Light Post Damage

On Friday at approximately 6:40 p.m., someone backed into a light post in the Pikeland Village Square parking lot, located on the 500 block of Kimberton Road, according to East Pikeland Police. The driver knocked the light post down and left the scene without reporting the accident, police say. Estimated damage is about $4,000. Police say the man was driving a green pickup truck. Anyone with information is asked to contact East Pikeland Police through the department's anonymous e-mail or call the station at 610-935-0606.

Simple Assault

A 25-year-old Pottstown woman was arrested for simple assault and related charges on Saturday, East Pikeland Police are reporting. According to the department, police were called to the 100 block of Orchard Lane at 6 a.m. to  investigate a disturbance. Through the investigation, police say they discovered that the defendant had struck her ex-boyfriend with a closed fist. The woman was housed in Pottstown jail overnight and arraigned in the morning. She failed to post bail and was sent to Chester County Prison, police say. A hearing is scheduled for April 11.

Woman Jailed for $5.29 Theft

A 29-year-old Phoenixville woman was charged with retail theft on Friday, East Pikeland Police are reporting. At 7:10 p.m., police were called to the Redner's Market where the defendent was being held on allegations of retail theft of an item valued at $5.29. She was arraigned and bail was set at $1,500, police say. The defendant was sent to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail, police say.
