Police: Alleged Assault Victim Harassed Perpetrator

State police say the woman sent aggressive text messages to a man who struck her on November 24.

A Telford woman faces charges after police say she repeatedly harassed the man who allegedly assaulted her in his Charlestown home last month.

Kerry Lynn Asbury, 41, was charged with three counts of harassment.

According to court documents, Robert McLean, a resident of the 4000 block of Howell Road, allegedly assaulted Asbury in his home on November 24. As a condition of his bail, McLean was told to avoid all conduct with Asbury, but the victim, apparently, had other plans.

On December 10, McLean told state police that Asbury was sending him aggressive text messages and making similar phone calls. One called him a “[expletive] abuser.” The man said he received 25 such text messages and 20 phone calls.

On December 13, police interviewed Asbury, who admitted to harassing the man she maintains abused her. She told police she was unable to stop contacting him, and had started seeing a therapist to help her deal with her anger resulting from the assault.
