Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Threw Cookies at Traffic

The following arrest information was supplied by the Phoenixville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported between Nov. 16 and Nov. 25. This is not an exhaustive list of all police responses during that time period.

Man Cited for Allegedly Throwing Cookies at Traffic

Adam Boyle, 21, was allegedly highly intoxicated and threw a box of cookies at passing cars and then began to urinate in public on Taylor Street, west of Main Street.

When an officer confronted Boyle, he fell over, according to the police report.

Boyle was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. The alleged incident occurred on Nov. 20 at 1:23 a.m.

Man Allegedly Passed Out in Trash on Bridge Street

Police cited Sean Paul Kelly, 42, of Honey Brook, for public drunkenness after he was allegedly highly intoxicated and passed out in the trash next to 212 Bridge St.

The incident occurred on Nov. 20 at 1:06 a.m.

Retail Theft at True Value

A person took approximately $51.36 of merchandise from True Value Hardware at 785 Starr St. sometime before 11:47 a.m. on Nov. 16.

The subject fled in a 2007 Dodge Caliber sedan. Police were investigating.

Shed Broken Into, Sweatshirts Stolen at Race Track

A man reported that someone broke into a shed at the quarter midget race track at 920 Township Line Road between 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 and 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 20.

The thief removed a box of 20 sweatshirts with the racing club’s logo. There was forced entry through the front of the shed where someone pried the latch and padlock off of the doors, according to police.

Police were investigating the crime.

Padlock Broken on Shed at Columbia Station

A man reported that in the rear of Columbia Station, 4 Bridge St., someone broke the padlock off of a shed sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 18.

Nothing was stolen.

Assault on Garfield Avenue

A woman told police that she was in a physical fight with Emil Chisca, 53, on Nov. 21 and she said she received a bruise on her arm and cuts on her back.

According to the police report, Chisca admitted causing the injuries, which occurred in the 1200 block of Garfield Avenue. The incident was reported on Nov. 23 at 9:55 a.m.

Chisca was charged with simple assault and harassment and he’s awaiting a preliminary hearing on March 8. Chisca is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.

iPod Stolen at PASD

A faculty member at Phoenixville Area School District reported that a 14-year-old student stole an iPod Nano from another student.

The girl allegedly admitted to the theft, and police were investigating. The incident was reported on Nov. 16 at 1:42 p.m.

Criminal Mischief on St. Mary’s Street

An unknown person broke the passenger side screen on a truck cap on a GMC truck parked in the 300 block of St. Mary’s Street in an attempt to gain entry.

Damage was also done to the wiring pigtails on the truck and to the trailer, and gas was removed from the victim’s tank and from a vehicle belonging to the victim’s father.

The incident occurred sometime during the overnight hours on Nov. 23.

Hit and Run on Nutt Road

A woman’s 2008 Toyota Highlander was parked in the fire zone in front of Phoenixville Hospital at 140 Nutt Road as she was unloading signs when an unknown vehicle, possibly a lime green van, struck the driver’s side front corner.

The incident occurred on Nov. 23 shortly before 2:16 p.m. The Toyota sustained minor damage.

Public Drunkenness at Starr Street and Washington Avenue

Thomas Memmo, 44, was a passenger in a vehicle where the driver was arrested by Upper Providence Township Police for allegedly driving under the influence.

Phoenixville Police were called in to assist, and they arrived at Washington Avenue and Starr Street and found Memmo uncooperative, continuing to try to exit the vehicle and interfere with field sobriety tests, according to police.

In the police report, the officer wrote that Memmo refused to call someone to pick him up and insisted on walking. After giving Memmo several attempts to call someone to pick him up, Phoenixville Police cited Memmo for public drunkenness and took him into custody.

The incident occurred on Nov. 23 at 11:20 p.m.

Tires Slashed, Car Vandalized on Carey Street

A man reported that someone slashed the tires on his Pontiac Bonneville and scratched the words “dog bark” on the vehicle, which was parked in a lot in the 200 block of Carey Street.

The incident occurred sometime before 8:22 a.m. on Nov. 24.

Green Paint on Vehicle on Pennsylvania Avenue

A woman reported that between Nov. 22 and 2:09 p.m. on Nov. 25, someone poured a can of green paint on the ground between her vehicle and the sidewalk in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Paint was also found on the concrete walkway and on the woman’s vehicle.

Drug Arrest on Gay Street

Police arrested Marlon Calix, 19, for drug possession and related charges on Nov. 25 at approximately 4:22 p.m. after police found a sandwich bag containing marijuana.

Calix has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 15.

Batteries, Chairs Stolen from Morris Cemetery

Sometime between Nov. 11 and Nov. 17, someone stole two batteries and four metal chairs from Morris Cemetery at 428 Nutt Road.

Police contacted a local scrap yard but were unable to track the items down. The incident was reported on Nov. 17 at 9:31 a.m.

Man Cited for Alleged Threats at Club 212

Brian Davenport, 32, was reportedly asked to leave Club 212, located at 212 Bridge St., and he refused on Nov. 19 shortly before 1:45 a.m.

According to police, Davenport was highly intoxicated and making racist comments and threats of serious bodily injury.

Police arrested Davenport and charged him with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

iPhone Reported Stolen at Phoenixville Hospital

A woman told police that someone stole her black 3GS iPhone while she was working in the emergency room at Phoenixville Hospital, 140 Nutt Road.

She reported that she last saw the phone on Nov. 18 at 11 p.m. The theft was reported on Nov. 19 at 2:10 a.m.

Police were investigating the theft.

Alleged DUI on Kimberton Road

Aimee Young, 32, was allegedly driving without headlights and failed to yield to emergency vehicles on Nov. 17 shortly before 5:20 p.m.

According to police, she failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence.

Alleged DUI at Gay and Church Streets

Police arrested Ashley Collier, 23, for driving under the influence after an alleged violation at the intersection of Gay and Church streets on Nov. 19 at approximately 12:24 a.m.

DUI Arrest at Starr and Washington

Jenna Park, 33, was arrested for driving under the influence after police say she was driving erratically on Starr Street on Nov. 23 shortly before 5:37 a.m.

Park reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have blood drawn.

Burglary on Starr Street

Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. on Nov. 19, someone stole items from a home in the 100 block of Starr Street, according to a police report.

The crime was reported at 3:49 p.m. and there was no forced entry. The person reporting the crime had a suspect in mind.

Car Vandalized on Walnut Street

A man reported that someone wrote “Cheater” with a broken heart drawn near it in lipstick on the hood of his 2007 Toyota Corolla.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of Walnut Street and the man said it occurred approximately two weeks prior to Nov. 21.

The man believed he knew who was responsible, and police were investigating.

Possible Theft at Franco’s on Bridge Street

A woman reported that a man was lurking in the area of the beer refrigerator and concealing something under his shirt shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Franco’s Ristorante, 226 Bridge St.

When confronted, the thief fled the store, and police were unable to locate him.

Burglary on Columbia Avenue

A man told police that he returned from a trip to find that his Eastwood brand welder, valued at $700, had been stolen from his garage sometime during the weekend before Nov. 22.

Police saw that someone had cut a hole into particle board adjacent to the garage door handle to gain entry. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Columbia Avenue.

Laptop, Money Stolen on Lexington Drive

A laptop computer and $1,000 cash were reported stolen from an apartment in the 800 block of Lexington Avenue.

According to police, a man reported that the money and computer were removed after he smoked marijuana with another man in the apartment. The money was taken a week before Nov. 22, and the laptop was taken on Nov. 20, according to the report. Police were investigating.

Theft from Vehicle at Village at Eland

A woman reported that at 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 22, she discovered the driver’s side rear window of her 1998 Honda Accord was smashed and her purse was missing.

The purse contained a camera, credit cards, a driver’s license and $50 cash. The incident occurred in front of Kimberton Dental Associates at 603 Village at Eland.

Marijuana Citation in the Prospect Street Lot

Police cited Shawn M. Sutton, 21, of Philadelphia, for allegedly smoking a marijuana blunt in the Prospect Street municipal lot on Nov. 19 shortly before 7:35 p.m.

Car Radio Stolen on Diana Drive

Between Nov. 18 and Nov. 21, someone stole a Sirius satellite radio valued at $70 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the first block of Diana Drive.

Mailbox Struck on Bateman Drive

A man reported that a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban, struck a mailbox in the 1100 block of Bateman Drive and fled the scene.

The striking vehicle was traveling west on Bateman Drive when it hit the mailbox, and it then turned around and began traveling east on Bateman Drive.

Vehicle Egged on First Avenue

A woman told police that someone egged her 2006 Ford Freestyle, which was parked in the 100 block of First Avenue.

The Ford was egged between 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 15 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 16.

Volkswagen Emblems Ripped Off Car on Ringold Street

Someone vandalized a 2008 Volkswagen GTI between 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 19, according to police.

Both sideview mirrors and every Volkswagen emblem were ripped off of the car. The crime occurred in the 800 block of Ringold Street and was reported on Nov. 19 at 10:14 a.m.

Mirror Broken on Washington Avenue

A woman reported that sometime between 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 19, someone broke off the driver’s side mirror on her 2003 Ford Focus, which was parked in the 300 block of Washington Avenue.
