Police: Drug Arrest at Phoenixville Kmart

Police say a search of a Royersford woman suspected of shoplifting turned up drug paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old Royersford woman was arrested earlier this month after police say theyfound items commonly associated with heroin use in her purse while she was being searched on suspicion of shoplifting.

According to court documents, on October 9 at 4:42 p.m., Phoenixville Police were dispatched to Kmart for a reported retail theft. The loss prevention manager had the suspect in custody and told police that she had stolen six items from the store, valued at $60.94.

Police searched the woman’s purse and found five empty blue plastic packets with the word “shazam” printed on them and three clear Ziploc baggies. Officers then found two small straws, one with a white, powdery residue inside it, inside the woman’s jacket pocket.

The officer noted the items were commonly used to ingest drugs and the woman admitted to being a heroin user.

Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, retail theft, and disorderly conduct were filed against the woman on October 19.
