A local man faces DUI charges after police say he picked an unfortunate place to pull over a noisy van with two flat tires: the Phoenixville Police Department.
According to court documents, on December 15 at 4:49 a.m., a Phoenixville Police officer heard a strange noise outside the station, and looked out to see a white van with two flat tires pull off of Dean Street and into the department's parking lot.
The officer made contact with the driver, Jonathan Naylor, 29, who confessed his license was suspended when asked for documentation.
The officer noted Naylor was intoxicated. When asked to leave the vehicle, Naylor clung to the van door to steady himself.
Naylor consented to and took field sobriety tests inside the station, and was subsequently taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have blood drawn for testing.
He was charged with four counts of DUI and additional counts of careless driving and driving with a suspended license.
He has a preliminary hearing date scheduled for January 24.
