Police: Man Arrested for Drug Dealing Brags to Police About Drug Dealing

A 20-year-old Phoenixville man allegedly bragged about his drug dealing abilities to an East Pikeland Police officer after he was arrested on multiple drug charges earlier this month.

According to court documents, on January 11 at 3:06 p.m., Randy Ramraju was pulled over on the 500 block of Kimberton Road for driving with a broken brake light.

The officer immediately smelled marijuana upon approaching the vehicle, and asked Ramraju if he was in possession of the drug. The man denied it initially, but then, when asked again, reached into his driver’s side door pocket and pulled out a clear plastic bag containing what the officer identified as marijuana.

Ramraju was placed under arrest and in the subsequent search of his vehicle, police found a digital scale that smelled strongly of marijuana and several clear plastic bags that appeared to be used to package the drug. Police also found cash in the car.

Later, while he was being processed at the Schuylkill Township Police Department, a peculiar exchange with the arresting officer led to Ramraju apparently bragging about selling marijuana.

When the defendant told police that it was embarrassing to be arrested on the side of the road, and that he worried one of his friends would spot him, the officer, in what he wrote in the affidavit was an attempt at levity, said “Maybe one took your picture and posted it on Facebook. That would be worth mad props, yo.”

Ramraju replied, “No, mad props is me flipping my stash for five Gs last night.”

The officer said he, matter-of-factly, read this as an admission from Ramraju that he sold his marijuana for $5,000 the night before.

Ramraju was charged with a felony count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and three additional misdemeanor drug charges. He faces preliminary hearing on January 31.
