Police: Man Drove Motorcycle with Child on Gas Tank

The Phoenixville resident was charged with child endangerment.

A 32-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested last weekend after he allegedly drove a motorcycle with a child sitting on the gas tank.

Adam Strenkoski, a resident of the 100 block of Coldstream Road, stands charged with recklessly endangering another person, endangering the welfare of a child, and operating a vehicle without a proper child safety harness.

According to court documents, on August 11 at 3:01 p.m., responded to a report from an off-duty officer that a child was riding on the handlebars of a white Honda motorcycle in the area of the 200 block of Nutt Road. Police checked the area, but found nothing.

About 45 minutes later, an officer saw a white Honda bike being driven in the area of Gay Street and Church Street. A child (no age was provided, but the child was described in the report as “small”) was sitting on the gas tank of the moving vehicle. It’s unclear what the child’s relationship to Strenkoski is.

The officer followed the bike, and ultimately pulled Strenkoski over in the parking lot of the on the 1000 block of Nutt Road. He was arrested and bail was set at $5,000. He faces formal arraignment on September 6.
