Police: Phoenixville Woman Arrested After Assaulting Senior Citizen

Tasia Chuko, 28, faces charges of simple assault and harassment.

A Phoenixville woman was arrested earlier this week after she assaulted an 82-year-old woman, are reporting.

Tasia Chuko, 28, was charged with simple assault and harassment stemming from the September 4 incident.

According to court documents, police were dispatched to the 500 block of Emmet Street at 9:07 p.m. that evening for a reported domestic dispute between two females.

Upon their arrival at the scene, the reporting party told police that Chuko had begun berating her (the reporting party) when she returned home that night. It’s unclear what their relationship is.

While the officer stood outside the residence speaking with the reporting party, he heard screaming coming from inside. “Get your hands off of me,” an elderly woman shouted. When the officer looked inside, he saw Chuko grab an 82-year-old woman, tell her to, in harsher terms, shut up, and throw her down on a nearby couch.

The officer then entered the residence and arrested Chuko. She was arraigned and placed in Chester County Prison when she was unable to post bail.

She faces preliminary hearing on September 13.
