Police: Phoenixville Woman Attacked Girlfriend with Knife

Police say the girlfriend was holding a one-year-old child when the assault began.

A Phoenixville woman faces felony assault charges after police say she attacked her girlfriend with a knife while the woman was holding her child.

In addition to the aggravated assault charges, Kimberly Anne Reese, 26, was charged with two counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, and endangering the welfare of a child after the alleged December 9 incident.

According to court documents, sometime before 7 p.m. Reese, wielding a knife, charged Johanna Stevens, 32, in the bedroom of their Eland Downe residence while Stevens was holding Reese’s one-year-old son.

Stevens told police that the altercation continued downstairs, where Reese punched her in the face and told her she was “going to kill” her.

When Phoenixville Police arrived at the scene shortly after 7 p.m.—Stevens’ mother had called them—they heard Stevens tell Reese, now holding the child, “You put a knife to my [expletive] throat and tried to kill me!” Police observed both women were injured; Reese with a black eye and Stevens with bruising on the left side of her face and scratches down her neck.

Kimberly Anne Reese was arrested, arraigned, and confined to Chester County Prison when she was unable to post $25,000 bail. She faces preliminary hearing on December 20.

Johanna Stevens was also arrested, but on lesser charges of simple assault and harassment, and released from Chester County Prison on $10,000 bail. She also has a preliminary hearing date of December 20.
