Police: Phoenixville Woman Was Drunk When She Hit Guardrail

Angela Zimmerman, 36, was charged with two counts of DUI.

A Phoenixville woman was arrested for DUI late last month after she struck a guardrail on Valley Forge Road, Schuylkill Township Police are reporting.

Angela Zimmerman, 36, faces charges of careless driving, failure to report damage to vehicle, and two counts of DUI stemming from the September 27 incident.

According to court documents, Zimmerman struck a guardrail on the intersection of Pawling Road and Valley Forge Road at 1:30 a.m. that Thursday. A Schuylkill Township officer heard the collision and pulled her Pontiac G6 over just shy of North Whitehorse Road.

Zimmerman’s airbag had deployed, but she was uninjured. When the officer approached the vehicle, he noted that Zimmerman’s speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot. She also smelled, according to the affidavit, strongly of alcohol.

She admitted to drinking alcohol that night and failed three field sobriety tests.

Zimmerman was taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have blood drawn for testing. She faces preliminary hearing on November 8.

This is horrible. Drunk driving kills and I'm so tired of reading all these stories of people in their 30's and 40's crashing up our town, endangering our neighbors and property. Lock them up and take away their license forever!

Wow, lots of sorrow and remorse for Andy Reid's dope fiend son but this lady is called every name in the book and should have her license taken forever according to the same people. Hmm... The criminal justice system will take it's course and hopefully she learned a lesson. At least no one was hurt.

If you were the son of a rich NFL coach, these same people would feel sorry for you... These jock sniffers and want to be star fu@*ers are really pathetic. What you did was wrong and hopefully you learned a lesson and it will never happen again. Good luck to you.

How ignorant are you people. Sitting in your glass houses. None of you know her from Adam and you cast out names like that? Oh I forgot Abby, Donna, Crystal....you must be a part of the "holier than thou" group right? Wow. Such hate.

Abby and a few others had already commented about how sorry they felt for Reid's son in another story yet they come here and attack a local woman for getting a DUI. I simply called out the hypocrisy. PS- When you ask a question, the sentence should end with a question mark, not three explanation points. The first word in a sentence should also be capitalized. If you are going to call someone a moron, at least use decent grammar.
