Police: Road Rage Incident Leads to Charges

The incident began in the Wendy's parking lot.

A road-rage incident investigated by East Pikeland Police on Friday led to assault and endangerment charges.

Police said that around 8:45 p.m. Friday, June 6, a vehicle pulling out of the Wendy’s parking lot allegedly almost struck another vehicle.

The second vehicle, driven by Raina Smith, followed the first car out onto Township Line Road, police said.

Police said Smith’s passenger, Waseem Ewell, 19, exited the vehicle and struck the driver of the first car several times. Smith kicked the victim’s car several times, police said.

Smith, of the 400 block of South Street in Phoenixville, is charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Ewell, of the 200 block of West Spencer Street in Philadelphia, is charged with aggravates assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and making terroristic threats.

Both were remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail, police said.
