Police: Routine Stop Leads to DUI Charge

Officers noted the smell of marijuana and the driver's bloodshot eyes, police said.

A woman was charged with DUI after a routine stop Saturday, East Pikeland Township Police said.

Police stopped a car with a headlight out on the 200 block of Schuylkill Road around 12:30 a.m. June 21. When officers approached the car, they noted the smell of marijuana, police said.

The driver, Aubrie Lynn Slawecki, 19, of the 40 block of Orchard Court, Royersford, had bloodshot eyes, police said.

When Slawecki failed field sobriety tests, she was charged with driving under the influence, police said. She was processed and released, pending a later hearing.
