You are correct, Mr. Valko. But it also doesn't mean they are BUMS because of what was reported in the story. We do not know all of the facts. I was not condoning shoplifting, I was saying that unless you know the entire story, we should not engage in passing judgment, and particularly name calling. Even Jesus refused to condemn or pass judgment on the adulterous woman, but he did not condone adultery when he did so.

Lynette, there are programs set up to help people who need food, formula, etc. Stealing is NOT the way to go.

Lynette I wonder how you would feel if you were mugged one night while you were out shopping. Would you still feel that you need all the facts about the mugger before you passed judgement or would you feel a different way?

Lynette, Times are tough and I would tend to agree with you. Looking deeper into the article you see their address is Park Springs, which to me adds foodstamps into the mix. I've seen foodstamp recipients filling their carts with steaks, shrimp nd top of the line foods. If this was a mom and daughter who were not living in public housing, colllecting from the gov't distribution of our tax dollars, I may tend to be a little more understanding. We pay for the food stamps and we pay for the theft in the way of increased grocery store prices. We also pay for the public defender and the court costs and/or living arrangements in jail. Absolutely NO sympathy here!

So its wrong for people who get foodstamps to buy certain food?? Also they are probably filling the carts because they get that money for food only once a month and probably do there shopping that one time for the whole month! I know someone on food stamps and let me tell you she struggles still with that help. There are people who abuse the system and there are actaully people who work but it just isnt enough. You probably dont knw that feeling. God forbid you lose your job one day and cant afford to feed ur child you definately better not be buying no steak!!!
