Police: Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charge for Philadelphia Man

A Philadelphia man was hit with drug charges late last month after police found marijuana in his car during a traffic stop, East Pikeland Police are reporting.

Douglas James Dixon, 23, faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without rear lights.

According to court documents, Dixon was pulled over on the 900 block of Spring City Road on September 29 at 11:45 p.m. for speeding, having a non-operational rear brake light, and failure to use his turn signal.

The officer who pulled him over noticed an odor of burn marijuana and asked him where it was. Dixon pulled two baggies of pot out from his center console.

Dixon faces preliminary hearing on November 15.
