Police: With License Suspended for DUI, Man Gets Another DUI

A 44-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested for DUI on September 8 after an officer spotted him driving with a suspended license, are reporting.

According to court documents, Garrison Flagg was driving west on High Street at 2:59 a.m. when an officer with the Phoenixville Police Department who, according to the affidavit of probable cause, knew he was driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI, spotted him.

The officer pulled Flagg over in the parking lot of the Polish Club and noted that he appeared to be heavily intoxicated and smelled accordingly. When the defendant got out of his Ford Expedition he slumped against the vehicle and explained that he was recovering from hip surgery.

He refused to submit to field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest for DUI. Police then took Flagg to Phoenixville Hospital, where he again refused to submit to any testing.

He was later taken to the station where, according to police, he urinated on the wall of the cell block hallway, and again in the holding cell.

Flagg was charged with several counts of DUI, driving without insurance, and institutional vandalism. He faces preliminary hearing on October 11.
