Police: Woman Lacerated Brother's Groin

Police say a drug-use intervention between siblings took a violent turn.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Upper Providence Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute with lacerations on Aug. 11.

The incident occurred on the 100 block of High St. in Upper Providence, where Nicole Hathcock, along with other unidentified parties, had reportedly attempted an intervention with her brother for his alleged rampant drug use.

At 1:05 a.m., Upper Providence Police arrived at the scene.

Hathcock, 37, a resident of Bridgeport, told police that during the intervention, an argument between the siblings escalated to a physical altercation. According to the affidavit, she further told police that she used her long fingernails to lacerate her brother’s testicle, and stated that she is at fault for the altercation.

The brother had reportedly walked away prior to police arrival, and was found in the rear parking lot of a nearby Comcast building. There, police confirmed the injury to the brother’s right testicle.  Prior to being helped into a Lower Providence Ambulance, he told police that Hathcock had been the aggressor.

The brother was transported to Phoenixville Hospital, where he received seven stitches to close the cut.

By 1:38 a.m., Hathcock was processed and housed by Lower Providence Police Department.

Hathcock was charged with Harassment with physical contact and Aggravated Assault with serious injury and other related charges.
