The driver of the Honda, DeCarlo, told police that she was talking on her cellphone when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed. During this explanation, police noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath. She admitted to drinking that night, but wouldn’t specify how many drinks she had. According to the affidavit, police said she had red, glassy eyes as well.

DeCarlo consented to take field sobriety tests, the results of which convinced the officer who administered them that she was unable to safely drive. She was placed under arrest for DUI and taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have blood drawn for testing.
