Terror for Tellers: New Details in Wells Fargo Robbery

New photos show terrorizing armed takeover robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank Branch in East Pikeland

New security camera photos from the robbery Tuesday morning at the Wells Fargo Bank in East Pikeland show an extremely violent take-over robbery with robbers who clearly meant to inflict terror to get what they wanted.

New details from East Pikeland Police:

Police say that three masked gunmen entered the bank, locked the front doors behind them, then pointed guns at tellers and customers and forced people in the bank to lie on the floor. After forcing everyone to the ground, police say the robbers jumped on and over the teller counters and removed money from the teller drawers.

One photo shows an older woman looking terrified and being forced to the ground at gunpoint.  Patch has blurred the victim's face in the photo to protect her identity.

According to police the robbery happened at 10:57 a.m.. No one was injured the heist.  The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.  They made their getaway possibly in a light blue van. A police detective on the scene told Phoenixville Patch this robbery may be related to one last week in Montgomery County.

Police are asking anyone in the region with information about the robbers or their whereabout to call East Pikeland Police or simply dial 9-1-1.  The case is also being investigated by Chester County Detectives and the FBI.
