Traffic was interrupted after a large tree fell across Route 29 in Charlestown this morning.
According to Patch reader Tim Griffiths, the tree fell near Union Hill Road. PennDOT and Verizon workers responded to clear scene, as did state police.
A PennDOT rep said she received an email at 11:28 a.m. indicating the road would be cleared in 30 minutes. She said PennDOT had to wait for Verizon to disentangle the tree from nearby utility wires before they could begin clearing it.
