UPDATE: Charges Filed in Pa. House Hotel Shooting

Two men arrested in Pottstown on Friday were charged Wednesday afternoon.

Shawn Nafeese Duell, 20, of Lower Pottsgrove, and Garrett Thomas Sterner, 19, of Pottstown, have been charged by Phoenixville police for their roles in the of a teen in the parking lot of the Pa. House Hotel, Sergeant Joseph Nemic told Patch in an email.

Duell, believed to be the gunman, and Sterner, the alleged driver of the silver Nissan sedan the victim, James “Mack” Brown, was shot inside of, are facing multiple charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, robbery, possession of a prohibited firearm, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, receipt of stolen property, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Duell and Sterner have been in custody since May 11, when on a warrant pertaining to their roles in an April 15 shooting of a mother and son in Pottstown.

Previous to the May 11 arrests, the Phoenixville and Pottstown police departments speculated that the May 8 and April 15 shootings shared a common gunman.
