Weekend Fight Outside Club 212 Lands Man in ER

A Norristown man punched a fellow clubgoer in the face early Sunday morning.

A 27-year-old Norristown man was arrested last weekend after he allegedly assaulted, and hospitalized, a man outside of .

Following the altercation, Gregory John Costa stands charged with simple assault, two counts of harassment, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

According to court documents, on August 12 at 2:04 a.m., a Phoenixville police officer on duty noted two men loudly arguing outside the nightclub, and then observed a fight break out. The officer reported seeing Costa, wearing a yellow shirt, punch the man in the face. At this point, he apprehended Costa.

The victim was badly bloodied. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and cleaned the wound, and in doing so found a large laceration on his forehead. He was transported to the Phoenixville Hospital emergency room.

Costa faces preliminary hearing on September 13.
