As reported by Phoenixville Patch, on Nov. 21, 2011, the then-14-year-old girl told a corporal with the Phoenixville Police Department that Schnovel, a family friend, had performed numerous sexual acts with her. Each took place in his red Ford Mustang, on one occasion in the parking lot of Phoenixville Hospital, she told police.

He later admitted to police that he had kissed the girl, taken pictures of her, touched her genitals, and offered her $5 to perform oral sex on him.

Schnovel faced his victim during the sentencing. According to the paper, the girl began cutting herself after the octogenarian began sexual contact with her.

“I am not going to hurt myself anymore,” Schnovel’s 16-year-old victim told the judge. “I am not a victim, I am a survivor.”

Schnovel looked on from his wheelchair.

“You are not going to heaven,” the victim added. “You are going to hell.”
