Information on Voting in the Election in the Phoenixville Area

Here's everything you need to know when you go out to vote in Tuesday's municipal election.

When to Vote

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 for the 2011 municipal election.

In Chester County, you can find exactly what your ballot will look like by going to this page and selecting your precinct from the list. 

Borough residents who aren't sure about ward can click on the precinct map to check.

More Information on Candidates 

For the Phoenixville Borough Council race, Phoenixville Patch put together a video for each of the nine candidates taken from a candidates forum held in mid-October. 

Here they are, by ward: 

North Ward 

Republican vs. Democrat  

Middle Ward

Democrat vs. Republican (i)

Middle Ward, 2-year Unexpired Term 

Democrat vs. Republican  

*Mayo currently serves on council in the two-year term. Due to resignations in the middle ward both seats are up for grabs.

West Ward 

Republican  vs. Democrat  

East Ward 

Republican vs. Democrat

In Schuylkill Township, two seats are open on the board of supervisors, with three candidates running. Those running are Republicans Barbara Cohen, who is currently chairwoman of the board, and Kevin Handforth, along with Democrat Jonathan H. Greene.

Auditor races in Schuylkill Township are also happening, and the League of Women Voters Guide has some information on those candidates below the supervisor candidates. 

East Pikeland Township has one supervisor spot open and one candidate, incumbent Republican J. Benson Campbell, running for it. 

Auditor positions are also open for write-ins in East Pikeland Township. 

Upper Providence Township has two folks running for one supervisor position, which will be vacated by Chairman Robert Fieo, who served for 12 years and was defeated by Republican Lisa A. Mossie in the primary. Mossie will square off against Democrat George T. Faris IV. 

The Oaks Neighborhood Association hosted a forum for the candidates, and Phoenixville Patch was there. Read .

School board races in both Phoenixville and Spring-Ford (for those in Mont Clare and Oaks) have an equal number of candidates to open seats. Check out , and see the League of Women Voters Guide for information on the Spring-Ford candidates.
