Obama's Executive Orders Ushering in Local Gun Boom?

The day after President Obama signed 23 executive orders on guns, business was booming at French Creek Outfitters.

Count one for unintended consequences. A week after President Obama signed 23 executive orders prescribing tighter regulation on guns in America, it looks like the biggest beneficiaries might be gun retailers.

The effect is being felt locally.

According to reporting in Montgomery News, just a day after the president made his sweeping regulations, business was bustling at Phoenixville’s French Creek Outfitters.

The line was at least a dozen deep at all times on January 17, and a store employee told a reporter that they were sold out of the AR-15 rifle—the style Adam Lanza notoriously used in the December 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary—and had been “for weeks.”

A separate source cited in the story said that the spike in sales is clearly a response to the President's agenda.

“Ever since the talk last year about Obama imposing gun controls, then everything went crazy,” the gun shop owner said.

The 23 actions, which range from the creation of incentives for states to share criminal background check information to an executive order for the CDC to begin research on gun violence, can be viewed here.

And the point of this is? Folks who never served in the military generally want ARs banned, and most veterans and owners don't. There's been too many troll-baiting articles on Patch lately, and I nominate this as one of them.

I believe all the talk of weapon banishment was done for the sole purpose of boosting gun sales. What better way for the government to generate tax revenue, through fear and misinformation. Remember, the government was never given the power to remove constitutional amendments. The second amendment was created to make sure of that. To keep us out from under a tyrannical yoke.Thomas Jefferson said it was the American people's responsibility to keep the government from becoming too powerful and for that reason the second amendment shall not be infringed.

dude the government can repeal amendments with a new amendment check out the 21st amendment sometime... and about adam lanza he did have an AR he took to sandy hook which was left in the car in favor of the ease of use of the pistols he had which did all the damage.

The 21st amendment was added so the constitution could be added to as time went on. It never gave the government the power to completely remove any amendment from the constitution! Believe me, if they had the power under the 21st amendment then it wouldn't have taken 200+ years to remove the 2nd amendment from the bill of rights (it's the bill of rights, not the Bill of privileges). I study constitutional law and live with people who study it. I know what I'm talking about. I am also a soldier who swore an oath to defend the constitution against aggressors. You don't swear an oath without understanding the meaning. Trust me when I say the 2nd amendment isn't going anywhere. The American people will not let our rights be Nazi-ed away by people like you. We will fight to keep our constitutional rights intact. So go ahead and help your government achieve a totalitarian rule over the American people.
