Obamacare Exchanges to be Explained Monday

It's a complicated topic, but this event will help you learn how and where to buy health insurance if you need it under 'Obamacare.'

You've been hearing about them for years and now the time has come when the Affordable Care Act, better known as 'Obamacare' will start to be implemented.

On October 1, the healthcare exchanges you may have heard of are supposed to open.

So what exactly are the exchanges, how do they work, and what do they mean for you?

Those are some of the questions that will be answered during a video presentation and question & answer session next Monday at the Phoenixville Public Library.  The event is free to attend but you will need to make a reservation.  The information is detailed in the following press release about the event sent to Patch by the library:

"Phoenixville Public Library will host a video presentation on the new Health Insurance Marketplace on Monday, September 23 at 7:00 PM.

This 46-minute video from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services provides an overview of how the Health Insurance Marketplace works, what it means for consumers and individuals, who is eligible to enroll, and how programs for people with limited incomes work.

Open enrollment for the Marketplace begins October 1.
