Pa. Unemployment Rate Dips to 6.0%

The state unemployment rate was lower than the federal unemployment rate again in March.

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate fell again in March, according to new numbers released Friday by the state Department of Labor and Industry.

The unemployment rate in March was 6.0 percent, down from 6.2 percent in February.

It is the state's lowest unemployment rate since October 2008. The overall U.S. unemployment rate in March was unchanged from February's, remaining at 6.7 percent.

The state's March 2013 unemployment rate was 7.7 percent, the Department of Labor and Industry said.
