Phoenixville Area Population Expected to Grow by 8,661 by 2040

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has released population projections for the Philadelphia metro area through 2040.

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has released population projections for the Philadelphia metro area, including all of Chester County, through 2040.

According to the data, every municipality in the county will grow by at least six percent over the next 30 years with West Brandywine Township, Upper Uwchlan Township, East Vincent Township, Modena Borough and Elverson Borough slated for the most growth in the county at over 50 percent.

For the years 2010 to 2040, DVRPC estimates that the following increases will happen across the Phoenixville area:

  • Phoenixville Borough: Population increase of 2,667, or 16.2 percent.
  • Schuylkill Township: Population increase of 2,621 or 30.8 percent
  • East Pikeland Township: Population increase of 3,113 or 44 percent.
  • Upper Providence Township: Population increase of 5,548 or 26.1 percent.

In real numbers, the Phoenixville area will add an estimated 8,661 new residents over the 30-year period.

As a whole, the Philadelphia metro area is projected to gain more than 600,000 residents or an 11 percent increase region wide.
