Charlestown and Schuylkill Townships will be affected.

Segments of Route 29 will close for pavement repairs starting on May 2, PennDOT announced today.

Through May 25, the road will be closed and detoured between Charlestown Road and Pothouse Road on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The posted detour will direct through traffic over White Horse Road and Pothouse Road. Local access will be maintained.

PennDOT Chester County maintenance crews will replace areas of deteriorated pavement on Route 29 in advance of repaving the roadway in 2013. The road closure is required due to the size of the construction machinery and the narrow roadway width.
