New Survey Rates Quality of Life in Chester County

A majority of Chester County residents think the area is doing as well, if not better, than it was five years ago, at least according to one survey.

The county released the results from its recent quality of life survey, and the numbers suggest that the county's residents feel pretty good about their home.

Here are some quick stats from the poll, matched with 2009 survey results for context:

• 95 percent of people polled said that Chester County is "a good or excellent place to raise a family," which is up from 92 percent in 2009.
• 78 percent (up from 75 percent) said that the area is a "better or same a place to live as compared to five years ago."
• 62 percent said the county is a good place to find a job.

The poll, which you can view on the county's website here, dives into other topics as well, including county employee performance and issue priorities. 12,000 surveys were mailed to Chester County households and about 10 percent (1,125) were sent back. 

Of those polled, 15 of the responses came from what the county calls "eastern communities," which include Phoenixville, Malvern, and Tredyffrin/Easttown.
