Water Main Construction Coming to Major Local Road

Project will run from late January until early spring.

The following information is from PennDOT:

Aqua Pennsylvania will close Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) between Country Club Road and Valley Park Road in Schuylkill Township, Chester County, on weekdays, starting Monday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for water main replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced. The weekday closure will be in effect through the end of March 2014.

During this operation, there will be separate detours for passenger vehicles and large trucks. Passenger vehicles will be detoured over Country Club Lane and Valley Park Road. Large trucks will be detoured over U.S. Route 422, Main Street and Route 724 (Schuylkill Road).

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. The construction schedule is contingent on the weather.

Aqua Pennsylvania will complete the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
