First Day Of School

For many Phoenixville Kindergarten Center students Monday was their first-ever day of school.

Excited 4 and 5-year olds arrive for their first day of school at the Phoenixville Area School District Kindergarten Center Monday morning.

There are 312 registered members of the Class of 2026. According to district officials this is the largest Kindergarten class in at least seven years and may be the biggest the district has ever had. Because Monday was the first day of school registration numbers could still fluctuate.

This is also the first year for the Kindergarten Center's enrichment program which offers a half day program of instruction and instructive play time in addition to the regular academic half day program.

There were 286 students enrolled in the enrichment program as of Monday morning, district officials tell Patch.
